Genspark Transforms from AI Search to Autonomous ‘Super Agent’ Platform

TLDR: Genspark, initially an AI search engine, has made a significant leap by pivoting to an ‘agentic AI’ model, launching its ‘Super Agent’ platform in April 2025. This new system leverages OpenAI’s advanced models to automate complex real-world tasks, achieving remarkable financial success and redefining productivity for businesses and individuals.

Genspark, a company that began as an AI search engine, has announced a pivotal transformation in its artificial intelligence capabilities, evolving into a ‘super agent’ platform. This strategic shift, which fully embraced agentic AI in April 2025, marks a significant advancement in how AI can automate complex workflows and deliver tangible outcomes rather than just information.

Initially designed to help consumers and professionals synthesize and structure information through AI search, Genspark observed a shift in user behavior by late 2024. Users increasingly sought not just answers, but actionable results, such as pitch decks, video scripts, and follow-up emails. This demand, coupled with rapid advancements in AI model capabilities—including longer context windows, stronger reasoning, and new multimodal APIs—prompted Genspark to make a bold move into autonomous agents.

Their flagship offering, ‘Super Agent,’ is a no-code, customizable AI assistant capable of automating a wide array of real-world tasks. These include making phone calls, generating presentations, creating videos, performing deep research, compiling lead lists, analyzing data, and even building websites. The platform orchestrates nine specialized large language models and integrates over 80 tools, dynamically assigning tasks to the most suitable component.

OpenAI’s models, particularly GPT-4.1, are central to Super Agent’s functionality. GPT-4.1 handles research and structured outputs with enhanced instruction following and a 1-million-token context window, allowing agents to process extensive documents without truncation. Kay Zhu, CTO and Co-founder of Genspark, highlighted the crucial role of their partners, stating, “OpenAI has been supporting Genspark from the beginning. Their APIs didn’t just power our models, they helped our 20-person team build, launch, and scale faster than anyone thought possible.”

The impact of this pivot has been substantial. In just 45 days, Super Agent achieved an impressive $36 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), demonstrating strong user demand and the effectiveness of its agentic approach. The platform is lauded for its ability to act as a ‘virtual team member,’ significantly reducing the time and cost associated with tasks that traditionally required human intervention. Genspark also claims a remarkable 90% reduction in hallucinations compared to other AI tools, ensuring higher accuracy in its outputs.

Looking ahead, Genspark plans to expand Super Agent’s capabilities into new categories, including an AI browser that interacts with web content and AI docs for generating rich-format documents. Zhu emphasized the company’s vision: “We built Genspark to be more than a chat interface, it’s an all-in-one AI workspace. And with OpenAI APIs, we were able to make that real in record time.” This evolution positions Genspark at the forefront of the agentic AI revolution, transforming how businesses and individuals approach productivity.
