Gen25 Empowers Boat Bike Tours with Agentic AI Workforce to Revolutionize Seasonal Operations

TLDR: Boat Bike Tours, a leading European cycling holiday provider, has partnered with Gen25 to implement an Agentic AI workforce. This strategic move addresses the company’s significant seasonal workload, particularly the 12,000 annual quote requests, by automating and optimizing the quoting process, leading to improved efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Amsterdam-based Boat Bike Tours, a prominent European provider of cycling-based holidays, has successfully integrated an Agentic AI workforce with the assistance of consulting partner Gen25. This initiative aims to tackle the inherent challenges of a highly seasonal business model, which sees a significant surge in demand during peak months.

Established in the 1990s, Boat Bike Tours has carved a niche by combining cycling adventures with boat tours, offering seamless holiday experiences across more than 15 countries, including picturesque tours in the Netherlands, Tuscany, and even Vietnam. The company currently caters to approximately 18,000 guests annually.

A major operational hurdle for Boat Bike Tours has been managing the influx of roughly 12,000 quote requests each year. A substantial portion of these inquiries arrives within a compressed timeframe, creating a logistical bottleneck. Previously, processing each quote was a time-consuming task, taking around 15 minutes as staff manually compiled data from various systems to generate suitable offers. This labor-intensive process led to slower customer response times, delayed bookings, and inefficient utilization of resources such as ships and cabins.

To overcome these challenges, Boat Bike Tours sought the expertise of Gen25, a firm renowned for its proficiency in intelligent automation and AI solutions. Gen25 advised the adoption of an Agentic AI workforce, a technology designed to mimic human employees by not only performing tasks but also making independent decisions and taking actions to achieve specific goals with minimal human oversight.

Joris van Wessem, who led the Gen25 team on this engagement, explained the core functionality: “Agentic AI enables software to act more like an intelligent agent – observing data in real-time, understanding context, making decisions, and taking actions accordingly. For Boat Bike Tours, this meant a smarter, more responsive quoting process powered by real-time insights and automation.”
