Automation Anywhere Deepens AI Agent Capabilities with New Solutions and Platform Enhancements

TLDR: Automation Anywhere, a leader in Agentic Process Automation (APA), has significantly advanced its AI agent vision through the unveiling of new pre-built Agentic Solutions and an expanded AI + Automation Enterprise System. These strategic developments aim to empower businesses with outcome-oriented AI, enabling intelligent automation, complex task management, and accelerated business outcomes, marking a pivotal shift from traditional RPA.

In a significant strategic move, Automation Anywhere, a prominent player in Agentic Process Automation (APA), has unveiled a suite of advanced AI agent capabilities and platform enhancements, signaling a profound commitment to the future of intelligent automation. This development, rather than a traditional acquisition, represents the company’s intensified focus on integrating sophisticated AI agents directly into its core offerings.

Central to this evolution are the newly introduced pre-built Agentic Solutions, launched on June 18, 2025. These solutions are designed to be outcome-oriented and AI-first, seamlessly integrating AI Agents, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), APIs, and robust enterprise-grade governance. According to Dustin Snell, SVP, Agentic Solutions Development at Automation Anywhere, these solutions mark ‘a significant advancement compared to legacy apps designed for manual, step-by-step human interaction, providing enterprises with a seamless path to scaling agentic automation without compromise.’ They empower business users to interact with and leverage intelligent agents through natural language interfaces, facilitating quicker execution and tangible results across various business functions, including accounts payable, customer support, banking, and healthcare.

Further bolstering its APA system, Automation Anywhere expanded its platform on May 13, 2025, with the addition of a Process Reasoning Engine (PRE). This innovative engine is engineered to comprehend enterprise context and drive business objectives through sophisticated agentic orchestration. The expanded APA system also incorporates Enterprise UI Agents, capable of autonomous computer operation, and Reasoning AI agents that can plan, execute, and learn based on defined goals.

These advancements build upon the foundation laid with the unveiling of the AI + Automation Enterprise System on June 11, 2024. This system was designed to harness AI with automation for exponential outcomes, featuring second-generation GenAI Process Models to accelerate the discovery, development, and deployment of AI process automations. It also introduced new AI Agents specifically for managing complex cognitive tasks, pushing the boundaries of what’s automatable across enterprise systems. A new AI Agent Studio was also launched, providing developers with low-code tools to build, manage, and govern custom AI Agents, supporting foundational models from leading cloud providers.

The company’s leadership in this domain was recently recognized with Kapil Vyas, Senior Vice President and Head of IT Systems of Information Security and Digital Transformation, receiving a 2025 CIO 100 Award on March 24, 2025. Vyas was honored for his innovative application of IT and AI in delivering business value through APA, leading the company’s AI & Automation Center of Excellence and spearheading the integration of agentic AI into operations.

The shift towards agentic AI is a critical trend in the automation industry. Kashyap Kompella, CEO of RPA2AI Research, notes that ‘Agentic AI is both a threat and an opportunity for RPA vendors.’ He views it as an opportunity for RPA vendors like Automation Anywhere to evolve into orchestration platforms for agents, leveraging their deep domain knowledge and established infrastructure. However, the rapidly expanding agentic AI ecosystem, with major tech players entering the fray, also presents a competitive challenge.
