Fort Wayne Launches Inaugural Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp, Leads Nation in Student Applications

TLDR: Fort Wayne, Indiana, has commenced its first-ever Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp, a free program designed to introduce high school students to artificial intelligence. The city has notably led the nation in student applications for this initiative, which focuses on machine learning, natural language processing, and ethical AI applications. The bootcamp, held at the AMP Lab at Electric Works, is a collaborative effort with local partners like CodeClouds Enterprise and the AI in Fort Wayne community.

Fort Wayne, Indiana, has proudly launched its inaugural Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp, marking a significant step in fostering local talent in emerging technologies. The program, which began on November 1, 2025, is a free initiative aimed at high school students in grades 9-12, requiring no prior experience in artificial intelligence. Notably, Fort Wayne has distinguished itself by leading the nation in the number of applicants for this prestigious bootcamp.

The bootcamp is structured as three consecutive Saturday sessions throughout November, each lasting five hours, and is hosted at the AMP Lab at Electric Works. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering essential AI topics such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, and ethical considerations. Students will also explore the practical applications of AI across diverse industries, including healthcare, arts and entertainment, business, sports science, and computer science.

Each session combines virtual lessons delivered by national lead instructors with hands-on activities guided by local volunteers and a dedicated teacher fellow. This blended learning approach ensures students receive both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Laptops, necessary materials, and lunch are provided to all participants, removing financial barriers to entry.

The initiative is a collaborative effort, with key local partners playing a crucial role. CodeClouds Enterprise, a global technology firm specializing in AI-driven solutions, is providing volunteer instructors who bring real-world industry insights to the classroom. Brian Hill, President of CodeClouds, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are incredibly proud to support this AI Bootcamp, and we’re doing it because we believe in the potential of our students and the power of our community.”

The ‘AI in Fort Wayne’ community has also been instrumental in rallying support for the program. Angie Carol, a generative AI consultant and founder of AI in Fort Wayne, emphasized the importance of embracing new technologies responsibly: “There’s pros and cons to every single technology that’s ever existed… my philosophy has always been to acknowledge and be understanding of the risks… but try to move forward, moving society forward in a positive way.”

Jeremy Curry, a Fort Wayne native and co-founder of People Lead AI, highlighted the transformative potential of AI, noting, “There’s just so many things we can be more efficient at… how we can make those faster with AI, how we can make decisions with AI to move things quicker and faster in this world.”
