TLDR: Legal tech innovator Eudia, specializing in agentic AI, has completed the acquisition of Johnson Hana, a prominent Alternative Legal Service Provider (ALSP). This strategic move, announced on July 8, 2025, aims to integrate over 300 elite legal professionals into Eudia’s platform, creating the world’s first AI-augmented human workforce designed to revolutionize legal services for Fortune 500 companies.
PALO ALTO, Calif. – July 8, 2025 – Eudia, a rapidly ascending legal technology startup focused on agentic AI, today announced its landmark acquisition of Johnson Hana, a leading Alternative Legal Service Provider (ALSP). This pivotal transaction, whose terms remain undisclosed, is set to merge Johnson Hana’s extensive network of over 300 elite legal professionals with Eudia’s cutting-edge artificial intelligence platform, forging what the companies describe as the world’s first AI-augmented human workforce in the legal sector.
The acquisition marks a significant step in Eudia’s mission to build the infrastructure of Augmented Intelligence for enterprise legal departments. Omar Haroun, Co-founder and CEO of Eudia, emphasized the strategic rationale behind the merger: ‘We’ve built the premier technology platform for agentic AI solutions, as evidenced by our rapidly growing Fortune 500 customer base. But we’ve learned that building truly transformative systems requires deep human expertise embedded within the technology itself.’ This philosophy underpins Eudia’s ‘Augmented Intelligence’ principle, where human-AI partnerships consistently outperform either humans or AI working in isolation.
Johnson Hana, founded by former Barrister Dan Fox, brings a formidable reputation and a blue-chip client roster that includes industry giants such as Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Stripe, Tesco, Airbnb, Coca-Cola, X, TikTok, and OpenAI. Fox expressed enthusiasm for the new chapter, stating, ‘This is a big leap forward. By fusing our elite talent base and managed services expertise with Eudia’s AI platform, we’re not just enhancing how work gets done — we’re redefining what’s possible. This is the right model, and the right time.’ Johnson Hana was reportedly selected from nearly a hundred potential partners due to its exemplary reputation and alignment with Eudia’s vision.
Founded in 2023, Eudia has demonstrated remarkable growth, scaling to over $10 million in annual recurring revenue and projecting to reach $20 million by year-end. The company’s ambitious trajectory is supported by a unique funding model: it secured up to $105 million in Series A funding led by General Catalyst, with an initial $30 million upfront and the remaining $75 million contingent upon strategic acquisitions like Johnson Hana. This approach, where venture firms operate akin to private equity, allows Eudia to optimize operations through technology and targeted expansions. Piper Sandler served as Eudia’s financial adviser for the transaction.
The integration of Johnson Hana’s deep industry knowledge directly into Eudia’s AI systems is expected to create ‘compounding intelligence,’ benefiting all clients by enabling them to handle more complex legal matters internally. This move aims to significantly reduce in-house teams’ dependence on traditional, often slow and expensive, law firms.
