ET Soonicorns Summit 2025: Charting India’s AI Trajectory from Infrastructure to Ethical Frameworks

TLDR: The ET Soonicorns Summit 2025, scheduled for August 22 in Bengaluru, will place Artificial Intelligence at its core, focusing on shaping India’s AI future. A key session, ‘AI for Bharat,’ will explore how localized data centers can foster inclusive, secure, and contextually relevant AI solutions for the nation. The summit aims to address critical aspects like infrastructure, regulation, innovation, and ethical considerations to bridge India’s digital divide and leverage AI for equitable growth and a secure digital ecosystem.

The highly anticipated ET Soonicorns Summit 2025 is set to convene on August 22 in Bengaluru, with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the driving force for India’s future economic growth and innovation. The summit, heralded as India’s largest gathering of ‘soonicorns’ (startups poised to achieve unicorn status), will delve into how these emerging companies are integrating AI not merely as a buzzword, but as a fundamental strategy for scale and disruption.

A pivotal session, ‘AI for Bharat: How Localised Data Centres Can Bridge the Digital Divide with Indian Solutions,’ will be a cornerstone of the event. This discussion will explore the strategic roadmap for building a sovereign AI infrastructure, powered by localized data centers, to create AI solutions that cater to India’s vast linguistic and cultural diversity. Experts from startups, policy, and law will unpack the infrastructure, regulation, and innovation necessary to bridge the nation’s digital divide, ensuring AI serves its uniquely diverse population.

India’s digital economy is projected to contribute nearly a fifth of its GDP by 2030, with the Generative (Gen) AI market alone expected to surge from approximately USD 1.1 billion in 2025 to USD 6.4 billion by 2030. To support this exponential growth, India’s data center capacity is projected to increase by 77% to 1.8 GW by 2027, driven by the demands of AI and cloud service providers. The summit will address how to harness this potential for every citizen, emphasizing that developing ‘AI for Bharat’ is a necessity, not just an opportunity.

Beyond ‘AI for Bharat,’ the summit will feature deep dives into foundational AI models, Gen AI startups, and the development of Indian-built large language models (LLMs) designed for local scale and global relevance. Key themes will include funding the AI revolution, ethical AI and regulation, AI talent acquisition and development, and AI for social impact. The event will host three mainstage tracks: ‘AI & Deep Tech Dominance,’ ‘From Pilot to Product-Market Fit,’ and the ‘Leadership Track: Lessons from the Trenches.’
