Emergent Labs Achieves Remarkable $15 Million ARR in Just 90 Days, Secures $30 Million Funding for AI-Powered App Development

TLDR: Emergent Labs, an AI-driven app-building platform, has rapidly achieved $15 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within 90 days of its launch. The San Francisco-based startup also announced a total of $30 million in funding, including a $23 million Series A round led by Lightspeed India, to further its mission of democratizing software creation through autonomous AI agents. The platform has already empowered over a million users to build more than 1.5 million applications globally.

Emergent Labs, a burgeoning force in the artificial intelligence startup landscape, has set a new industry benchmark by reaching an impressive $15 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within a mere 90 days of its official launch. This extraordinary growth underscores the significant demand for accessible, AI-powered software development tools.

The San Francisco-based company, founded in 2025 by brothers Mukund Jha (also a co-founder of Dunzo) and Madhav Jha, has simultaneously announced a substantial funding achievement, securing a total of $30 million. This includes a recently closed $23 million Series A round, spearheaded by Lightspeed India, with additional participation from prominent investors such as Together Fund, Y Combinator, and Prosus Ventures. The Series A round also saw contributions from a distinguished roster of angel investors, including Google chief scientist Jeff Dean, Mistral founding scientist Devendra Chaplot, and former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan, among others. This latest investment follows an earlier $7 million seed round, bringing Emergent’s total funding to $30 million.

Emergent’s core offering is an innovative ‘agentic app-building platform’ that leverages autonomous AI agents to enable anyone, regardless of their technical background, to create full-stack, production-ready applications. Co-founder and CEO Mukund Jha emphasized the platform’s unique capability, stating, “Emergent allows anybody with an idea and a phone to build production-ready apps. Other builders stop at prototyping. We’ve built a vertically integrated stack that covers front-end, back-end, deployment, payments and scaling, so users can go from a prompt to a fully functional product.”

The platform’s rapid adoption is evident in its user base, with over one million individuals having collectively built more than 1.5 million applications across 180 countries. These applications span a diverse range of uses, from entrepreneurs digitizing business operations and non-technical teams in marketing or HR functions, to individuals developing personal productivity tools. Notably, roughly half of the applications created on the platform incorporate an AI component, and for many users, Emergent represents their first foray into both coding and artificial intelligence.

Emergent’s technological edge is attributed to its in-house AI coding agent and custom-built infrastructure, which employs multi-agent orchestration to handle various stages of software creation—from code generation and testing to deployment. This sophisticated system provides users with what feels like a dedicated cloud-based development team, capable of debugging, installing libraries, reading logs, and maintaining context over extended sessions, all while ensuring speed, security, and reliability.

With its sights set on further expansion, Emergent is also making strategic inroads into the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, recognizing it as a vibrant hub for software innovation and SME digital transformation. The company’s swift ascent and significant financial backing position it as a key player in the evolving landscape of AI-driven software development, promising to democratize app creation and foster a new wave of innovation globally.
