Dettol Banega Swasth India Unveils Enhanced Hygieia AI Chatbot in Landmark 12th Season

TLDR: Dettol Banega Swasth India has launched the 12th season of its campaign, featuring the enhanced Hygieia AI Chatbot as a cornerstone of India’s digital hygiene efforts. This AI-powered WhatsApp chatbot aims to democratize health guidance, offering science-based hygiene knowledge in 22 Indian and 4 international languages, marking a significant stride towards a healthier India.

New Delhi, October 2, 2025 – Dettol Banega Swasth India, in collaboration with NDTV, today marked a pivotal moment in public health with the launch of its 12th landmark season. The campaign, India’s foremost and longest-running television health initiative, unveiled a series of transformative initiatives, with the ‘Hygieia’ AI Chatbot taking center stage as a significant advancement in digital hygiene.

The Hygieia AI Chatbot, an innovative AI-powered WhatsApp platform, is designed to democratize access to essential health and hygiene knowledge. It provides accessible, science-based information aimed at preventing diseases and promoting sustainable health practices. A key feature of this initiative is its extensive linguistic support, offering guidance in 22 Indian languages and four international languages (English, Spanish, French, and Mandarin), ensuring inclusivity across diverse linguistic groups.

While the Hygieia chatbot had its international debut earlier this year at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos and was initially launched in India on October 2, 2024, this year’s event signifies a major re-emphasis and expansion of its role within the campaign’s ambitious goals.

The 12th season’s grand telethon, held today, saw Campaign Brand Ambassador Actor Ayushmann Khurrana ignite the show with a heartfelt invocation of the campaign’s theme, “I Am the Change,” and the uplifting call for action, “Mere Dus Gaz Se Viksit Bharat Tak” (“From My Ten Yards to a Developed India”). This theme underscores the campaign’s objective to empower every individual to become an agent of health transformation, contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Beyond the Hygieia chatbot, the campaign introduced other impactful initiatives. These include the ‘Swasth Bharat Champ Hygiene Loyalty Card Program,’ India’s first-ever non-financial hygiene loyalty card for children, leveraging gamification to instill lifelong healthy habits. Additionally, the ‘Dettol Accessibility Curriculum’ was unveiled, a world-first digital curriculum tailored for children who are blind, deaf, mute, or autistic, promoting health equity and ensuring no child is left behind. Awards for Maternal and Child Health Tech Accelerators were also announced, focusing on innovations for mothers and children during the critical first 1,000 days.

The event was graced by distinguished national leaders, including Her Excellency the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, alongside Smt. Anandi Ben, Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Hon’ble CM of Odisha, all affirming their commitment to public health and dignity. Gaurav Jain, Executive Vice President – South Asia, Reckitt, reiterated the company’s purpose: “At Reckitt, our purpose is to protect, heal, and nurture. Through our partnership with NDTV on the landmark Dettol Banega Swasth India campaign, we’re proud to be driving meaningful change in the lives of millions of Indians.”
