TLDR: Denodo, a leader in data management, has announced the release of Denodo DeepQuery, a new deep research capability designed to significantly enhance generative AI (GenAI) applications. This innovation allows GenAI to move beyond simple fact retrieval to perform complex investigations, synthesize information, and provide explainable reasoning by leveraging real-time, governed enterprise data and external sources.
PALO ALTO, Calif. – July 7, 2025 – Denodo, a prominent figure in data management, today announced the launch of Denodo DeepQuery, a groundbreaking deep research capability set to revolutionize how generative AI (GenAI) interacts with enterprise data. Currently available in private preview and slated for general availability soon, DeepQuery aims to empower GenAI to conduct sophisticated investigations, synthesize diverse information, and articulate its reasoning with unprecedented depth.
Denodo DeepQuery is engineered to tackle complex, open-ended business questions that typically demand extensive manual analysis. Unlike conventional GenAI solutions that primarily rephrase existing content or Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, DeepQuery performs true deep research. It achieves this by analyzing intricate queries and searching across a vast spectrum of live, governed enterprise data, spanning various systems, departments, and formats. The result is the delivery of well-structured, explainable answers rooted in real-time information.
This new capability is designed to enable ‘citizen analysts’ to answer multi-step ‘why’ questions in minutes, a task that would traditionally take days. For instance, it can address queries such as ‘Why did fund outflows spike last quarter?’ or ‘What’s driving changes in customer retention across regions?’ DeepQuery connects directly to live, governed data across disparate systems, applies expert-level reasoning, and rapidly provides insights, eliminating the need for piecing together numerous reports and data exports.
Furthermore, DeepQuery extends its analytical power by leveraging external data sources. This allows it to enrich enterprise data with publicly available information, data from external applications, and insights from trading partners, providing a more comprehensive understanding of complex current events and situations.
Stewart Bond, Research VP, Data Intelligence and Integration Software at IDC, commented on the announcement, stating, “With DeepQuery, Denodo is demonstrating forward-thinking in advancing the capabilities of AI.” A Denodo spokesperson emphasized the transformative potential, adding, “With DeepQuery, we’re unlocking that potential by combining generative AI with real-time, governed access to the entire corporate data ecosystem, no matter where that data resides. Unlike siloed solutions tied to a single store, DeepQuery leverages enriched, unified semantics across distributed sources, allowing AI to reason, explain, and act on data with unprecedented depth and accuracy.”

DeepQuery is being developed as a fully extensible component of the Denodo Platform and is slated to be packaged with the Denodo AI SDK. The SDK is designed to streamline AI application development through pre-built APIs, enabling developers and AI teams to seamlessly build, experiment with, and integrate deep research capabilities into their own agents, copilots, or domain-specific applications.
