Deloitte India and AWS Forge Multi-Year Alliance for Agentic AI and Cloud Transformation, Launching India’s First Agentic AI Lab

TLDR: Deloitte India and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have entered into a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement to accelerate cloud and AI-led digital transformation across India. This landmark partnership includes the establishment of India’s first AWS Agentic AI Lab and an AWS Centre of Excellence, aiming to significantly expand Deloitte India’s cloud business by ₹2,500 crore by 2030. The collaboration positions Deloitte India as the first global system integrator in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region to undertake such an initiative with AWS, focusing on developing and deploying advanced agentic AI solutions for various industries.

Deloitte India and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have officially announced a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) aimed at propelling cloud and AI-led digital transformation throughout India. This significant alliance marks a pivotal moment, as Deloitte India becomes the first global system integrator in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region to engage in such a comprehensive collaboration with AWS.

The core of this partnership involves several key initiatives designed to foster innovation and drive business value. A cornerstone of the agreement is the establishment of India’s first AWS Agentic AI Lab in Bengaluru, alongside an AWS Centre of Excellence (CoE). These facilities will be instrumental in building and delivering cutting-edge agentic AI solutions, leveraging AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock Agents and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.

Agentic AI, as described by Deepak Kagliwal, Executive Director at Deloitte India, represents the next phase in enterprise automation. Unlike traditional predictive or prescriptive AI models, agentic systems are capable of executing defined tasks within business processes autonomously, reducing the need for constant human intervention. The lab will focus on addressing industry-specific challenges, including financial planning inefficiencies, compliance complexities, and customer experience gaps. A dedicated team of agentic AI specialists, data engineers, and full-stack developers will be tasked with creating these industry-specific solutions.

Vinay Prabhakar, Partner and Alliance Leader, Deloitte South Asia, emphasized the strategic nature of the collaboration, stating, “Through this expanded collaboration announced at Coalesce 2025, Deloitte and AWS are combining diverse capabilities and building a strategic framework that prioritises India-specific innovation, accelerates time-to-market, and delivers co-created industry solutions.” He added that the partnership would empower organizations across sectors like financial services, the public sector, conglomerates, and Global Capability Centers (GCCs) to grow with confidence and resilience through cloud and AI-powered innovation.

The collaboration is set to significantly expand Deloitte India’s cloud business, with an ambitious target of growing it by ₹2,500 crore by 2030. The solutions developed will cater to a wide array of applications, including financial operations’ efficiency, customer and campaign intelligence, regulatory and compliance automation, human resources, and talent transformation.

Further enhancing the client experience, the partnership also includes the launch of a customer experience (CX) zone powered by AWS at the Deloitte Centre for Innovation & Technology (DCIT) in Bangalore. This immersive environment will showcase cloud and AI solutions built on AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, and Amazon Connect, blending digital and physical experiences.

Prashanth Kaddi, Partner, Consulting, Deloitte India, highlighted the significant demand from Indian organizations to explore generative AI. He noted that the joint initiative would support Deloitte India’s long-term vision of expanding its generative AI practice, enabling businesses to implement and derive value from enhanced innovation and growth. Deloitte India will help clients experiment with AWS generative AI technologies, including Amazon Bedrock, to develop solutions for complex data analysis, overcoming conversational barriers, and mitigating delays caused by manual interventions. Proof of Concepts (POCs) over the next six months will focus on use cases like semantic text exploration, content creation, image recognition, and code generation.

Beyond technological advancements, the collaboration is also poised to drive substantial talent development in India. Deepak Kagliwal noted that it would create opportunities across cloud, data, AI, SAP, and Internet of Things (IoT) skills. Deloitte plans to combine external hiring with internal upskilling through continuous training and certification in partnership with AWS, reinforcing India’s potential to contribute to global innovation, especially with initiatives like the IndiaAI Mission.
