Daylight Security Secures $7 Million Seed Funding to Revolutionize Cyber Defense with AI-Human Hybrid Approach

TLDR: Daylight Security, an Israeli cybersecurity startup, has successfully raised $7 million in seed funding. The company emerged from stealth to introduce a new class of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services that integrate advanced AI agents with human expertise to combat complex cyber threats. This funding will support global expansion, platform development, and key hires, aiming to address the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape.

TEL AVIV, Israel – July 22, 2025 – Daylight Security, an innovative cybersecurity startup, today announced it has emerged from stealth with a significant $7 million in seed funding. This capital infusion is set to propel the company’s mission to redefine cyber defense through a unique hybrid model that seamlessly combines advanced artificial intelligence agents with the invaluable insights of elite human cyber analysts.

The seed funding round was spearheaded by Bain Capital Ventures, with notable participation from Maple VC. The round also saw contributions from a distinguished group of Israeli angel investors, including Torq co-founders Ofer Smadari, Leonid Belkind, and Eldad Livni; Cyera co-founders Tamar Bar-Ilan and Yotam Segev; and EON founder Ofir Ehrlich. This investment will be strategically utilized to fuel Daylight’s global expansion initiatives, accelerate the development of its cutting-edge platform, and facilitate key hires across its engineering and go-to-market teams.

Daylight Security’s core offering is a next-generation Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service designed to empower organizations to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats with unprecedented speed and efficiency, all without the necessity of expanding their internal security teams. The company’s innovative approach addresses the growing complexity and persistence of modern cyber threats, which often overwhelm traditional security measures and in-house resources.

The hybrid model leverages automated AI ‘agents’ to handle extensive data analysis and initial threat investigations. These AI-driven insights are then complemented by seasoned human analysts who interpret the alerts, validate findings, and take decisive action. This synergistic combination is engineered to significantly reduce response times, alleviate alert fatigue, and minimize the overall business impact of cyberattacks.

Hagai Shapira, CEO of Daylight Security, emphasized the urgency of their solution, stating, “Modern cyber threats evolve at lightning speed, and traditional MDRs simply can’t keep up. Daylight goes beyond simple alert triage to deliver full-spectrum threat detection and resolution, combining advanced AI with expert human analysts for faster, more reliable outcomes. The security services market is undergoing a revolution, and Daylight is leading the way by bringing agentic AI innovation to one of the last frontiers untouched by this transformative technology.”

Just six months after its founding, Daylight Security has already secured and is serving multiple clients within the demanding finance and technology sectors. The company currently maintains a team of approximately 20 employees across its offices in Tel Aviv, New York, and Singapore, with plans for further expansion of its engineering and sales staff in the coming months.
