Crescent Enterprises and MIT Solve Award $100,000 AI for Social Innovation Prize at UN General Assembly

The prize recognizes four innovative teams utilizing artificial intelligence to address critical global challenges in literacy, women’s health, climate resilience, and eyecare, providing them with funding and extensive support.

New York / Sharjah – Crescent Enterprises, the UAE-headquartered diversified business, and MIT Solve, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology initiative dedicated to technology-led social impact, jointly announced the recipients of the inaugural Crescent Enterprises AI for Social Innovation Prize. The prestigious award, totaling $100,000 in equity-free funding, was unveiled on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week in New York, recognizing four exceptional teams leveraging artificial intelligence to tackle pressing global issues.

The prize aims to support real-world AI solutions that demonstrate significant potential for social impact. In addition to the financial grant, the winning teams will gain access to MIT Solve’s comprehensive nine-month Solver support program, which includes mentorship, strategic advice, and engagement with MIT’s extensive global networks.

The four distinguished recipients of the 2025 prize are:

I Read Arabic: Focused on advancing Arabic literacy at scale through engaging, high-quality digital learning platforms.

Smart Scope® CX: Dedicated to bringing low-cost, AI-assisted cervical cancer screening directly to the point of care, enhancing accessibility and early detection.

Littoral: Utilizing coastal data to develop early warning and planning tools, fostering climate-resilient shores.

Visilant: Working to expand affordable eye screening services, enabling more individuals to receive timely care and improve their quality of life.
