TLDR: Cosentino Global S.L.U. has partnered with Celonis SE to significantly expand its digital workforce by integrating artificial intelligence agents across its operations. This collaboration, highlighted at Celosphere 25, leverages Celonis’s process intelligence platform to streamline business processes, automate functions, and provide deeper insights, with a reported doubling of service levels in areas like order-to-cash flow.
Cosentino Global S.L.U., a leading distributor for architectural and design projects, is making significant strides in its digital transformation journey through an expanded partnership with process intelligence leader Celonis SE. The collaboration focuses on integrating artificial intelligence agents to build a robust ‘digital workforce’ across Cosentino’s diverse operations, a development prominently featured at Celosphere 25.
Rafael Domene, global chief information officer of Cosentino, emphasized the strategic shift during an interview with theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. “We studied the processes we’re covering, and we started moving forward on using AI for more things than just AI agents to provide or automate certain functions within the processes,” Domene stated. He added, “What we’re doing now is making use of AI to provide more insights and more visibility on what’s going on in the organization.”
This initiative builds upon an earlier success in October 2024, where Cosentino and Celonis successfully implemented an AI assistant for credit block management. This initial deployment, which took just seven weeks to build and deploy, dramatically improved efficiency, enabling the credit management team to tackle blocked sales orders up to five times faster.
According to Domene, Celonis’s platform is indispensable for this integration. “Celonis was essential for integrating AI into Cosentino’s business… without Celonis’s platform backing up the process information, it’s very difficult to make agents work,” he explained. The impact has been tangible, with Cosentino reporting a doubling of service levels wherever Celonis’s process intelligence has been applied, particularly in critical areas like the order-to-cash flow.
Domene likened the introduction of AI agents to bringing a “digital person into your processes.” He highlighted the need for careful management: “You trained them on other things and you have to monitor them. It’s not about giving the right context, it’s not about giving them the right information so they can do the right thing, but also understanding how they’re performing.”
The company’s digital workforce has expanded rapidly since its first autonomous engine was put in place early last year, which took only seven weeks to develop and is still performing exceptionally well. Cosentino is also collaborating with Microsoft Corp. on agent-to-agent communication and traditional Model Context Protocol standards, both internally and externally. Domene noted that while creating an AI tool is relatively straightforward, its successful implementation into business operations presents a distinct challenge, requiring careful management of organizational change.
