Conduent Incorporated (Nasdaq: CNDT) today released its financial results for the third quarter of 2025, detailing strategic advancements in debt management and artificial intelligence integration amidst a challenging revenue landscape. The global technology-driven business process solutions provider reported a revenue of $767 million for the quarter, which notably missed analyst estimates of $810.2 million by approximately 5.3%. The company also posted a pre-tax loss of $38 million, a decrease from $159 million in the prior year period, primarily attributed to a divestiture-driven gain from the transfer of its Casualty Claims Solutions business in the previous year.
Despite the top-line shortfall, Conduent demonstrated progress in operational efficiency, with Adjusted EBITDA improving to $40 million and the Adjusted EBITDA margin reaching 5.2%. This marks an increase from 4.1% in Q3 2024 and shows sequential and year-over-year improvement, aligning with the company’s guidance. Adjusted diluted EPS for the quarter was $(0.09), an improvement from $(0.14) in the same period last year, though it still fell short of analyst projections. New business signings, measured by Annual Contract Value (ACV), stood at $111 million, with a Net ARR Activity Metric (TTM) of $25 million.
Strategically, Conduent achieved several significant milestones. The company successfully completed the refinancing of its revolving credit facility, extending its maturity and paying off the Term Loan A, thereby strengthening its financial foundation. As of the end of the quarter, Conduent maintained a healthy cash balance of $264 million and $198 million in unused capacity under its renewed credit facility. The company also repurchased approximately 4.7 million shares of common stock during the quarter.
A major focus for Conduent has been the integration and deployment of advanced AI technologies. The company announced the integration of generative AI (GenAI) and other sophisticated AI solutions into its government offerings. These enhancements are designed to improve the disbursement of critical government benefits, elevate the citizen experience, and bolster efforts to combat fraud in government programs. Furthermore, Conduent has deployed AI enhancements across its proprietary technology and platforms for document processing, customer experience, and fraud prevention, aiming to deliver greater efficiency for clients and streamline internal operations. Cliff Skelton, Conduent’s President and CEO, highlighted that the company is now beginning to license its software with built-in AI to clients, underscoring its evolution beyond a purely services company to an integrated service technology business. To further showcase these capabilities, Conduent has launched an AI experience center in New Jersey, targeting major healthcare and auto manufacturing clients.
In terms of operational performance, Mr. Skelton noted that Q3 met guidance on Adjusted Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA Margin, signaling a continued drive toward year-over-year revenue growth. He acknowledged the strong performance of the Public Sector businesses, despite the cyclical nature of government funding and a federal government shutdown. The Transportation segment also showed positive momentum, securing new logo wins and experiencing a 320% increase year-to-date in that area. Giles Goodburn, Chief Financial Officer, reported a strong qualified ACV pipeline of $3.4 billion, representing a 9% increase year-over-year.
