Commonwealth Bank Secures Top Four Global Position in AI Maturity, Dominating Asia-Pacific

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has achieved a significant milestone, being named among the world’s top four banks for artificial intelligence (AI) maturity in the prestigious 2025 Evident AI Index. This recognition also positions CBA as the leading bank in the Asia-Pacific region for its advancements in AI. The announcement highlights the bank’s sustained commitment to integrating responsible AI across its operations to deliver enhanced customer experiences and operational efficiencies.

The 2025 Evident AI Index, an independent benchmark, evaluates 50 global banks across key pillars including Talent, Innovation, Leadership, and Transparency. CommBank’s impressive performance saw it rank #1 globally in both Talent Development and Responsible AI Leadership, alongside several other leading institutions. This marks a notable improvement from its #5 global ranking in 2024, underscoring the bank’s accelerated progress and strategic investments in the AI domain.

Gavin Munroe, CommBank Group Chief Information Officer, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “We’re proud to be recognised as a global leader among banks in AI.
