Cognizant Unveils Agent Foundry to Drive Enterprise-Scale AI Integration

TLDR: Cognizant has introduced Agent Foundry, a new platform designed to help businesses deploy and manage autonomous AI agents at a large scale. The platform aims to seamlessly integrate AI into enterprise workflows, supported by major technology partners and a focus on regulatory compliance.

TEANECK, N.J. – Cognizant announced the launch of its new enterprise AI agent platform, Agent Foundry, on Thursday. This offering is designed to assist companies in the design, deployment, and orchestration of autonomous AI agents across their operations. The platform provides a comprehensive framework, reusable assets, and implementation services, leveraging both Cognizant’s and third-party intellectual property.

The primary goal of Agent Foundry is to foster the development of ‘agentic enterprises,’ where human employees and AI agents collaborate to enhance business outcomes. The platform is built to support adaptive operations, facilitate real-time decision-making, and deliver personalized customer experiences. “We’re entering a new phase of enterprise transformation, one where AI agents become embedded, trusted participants in how work gets done and transformation is managed,” said Naveen Sharma, Global Head of AI and Analytics at Cognizant.

Agent Foundry is designed with a modular and composable architecture, making it platform-agnostic and enabling a quicker time-to-market. It features enterprise-grade governance and interoperability with multiple platforms. Key components of the platform include domain-specific small language models (SLMs) tailored for specific industries, industrialized agent templates, and a pre-built library of proprietary and third-party agents to speed up deployment.

The platform follows a structured four-stage implementation process: Discover, Design, Build, and Scale. It is designed to integrate with major enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, and HRIS. Cognizant has also collaborated with technology partners like ServiceNow, Salesforce, and WRITER to enhance the platform’s capabilities. The solution also integrates with other partner solutions, including Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, Google Agentspace, and Salesforce Agentforce.

Agent Foundry supports a wide range of applications, from horizontal business functions like customer service and marketing to industry-specific processes such as claims adjudication and regulatory reporting. To ensure responsible AI deployment, the platform is designed to comply with major regulatory standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, and the EU AI Act.
