Key features include AI-powered task management, real-time note-taking, and intelligent meeting room functionalities, with many becoming generally available in Q1 CY26.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – September 30, 2025 – Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO), a leading provider of networking and collaboration solutions, today announced a significant leap forward in workplace productivity and interaction with the unveiling of new AI agents for its Webex platform. The announcement, made at the company’s annual WebexOne 2025 event, introduces a new era of ‘Connected Intelligence,’ fostering dynamic collaboration between people and artificial intelligence.

Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer at Cisco, articulated the company’s vision, stating, “With Connected Intelligence, we’re weaving AI agents into Webex to supercharge teams and power new breakthroughs in how people and AI collaborate to get things done—this is the future of work coming to life.” He further emphasized, “We’re building AI agents into Webex today that will amplify our collective productivity and fundamentally improve how people connect with each other, how they interact with AI, and how AI agents themselves collaborate.”

The new agentic capabilities are designed to minimize distractions and automate routine tasks, allowing employees to focus on higher-value work. Among the key innovations for the Webex Suite are:

Task Agent: An AI agent that proactively generates action items directly from meeting transcripts, significantly reducing manual follow-up. (Generally available Q1 CY26)

Notetaker Agent: Capable of transcribing and summarizing in-person meetings in real-time, capturing the essence of impromptu discussions and brainstorms. This agent will be available across the Webex App and Cisco Collaboration Devices running RoomOS 26. (Generally available Q1 CY26)

Polling Agent: Recommends and creates polls to enhance engagement during meetings.

Meeting Scheduler: Automates the scheduling of follow-up meetings.

Receptionist Agent: Acts as a virtual receptionist for seamless guest management.

Further enhancing the meeting experience, Cisco introduced RoomOS 26, the next evolution of its cloud-connected operating system for Cisco devices, powered by NVIDIA hardware. This updated OS brings advanced AI capabilities directly into physical meeting spaces, including:

Director Agent: Provides automated camera direction for more dynamic and inclusive video conferencing.

Audio Zones: Intelligently manages audio within meeting environments.

Workspace Advisor: Offers digital space mapping and insights for optimized room utilization.

Cisco is also expanding its ecosystem through strategic integrations with leading platforms. These include Amazon Q index, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Salesforce, enabling seamless agentic workflow automation across various business applications. For Cisco devices running Microsoft Teams Rooms, the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) will be utilized to ensure robust security.

For IT administrators, Cisco is introducing AgenticOps through integration with Cisco AI Canvas. This provides technical staff with rich analytics and clear data stories via a natural language interface, simplifying troubleshooting for network and call quality issues and optimizing collaboration experiences effortlessly.
