The partnership focuses on delivering trusted, scalable AI solutions designed to personalize instruction, optimize learning outcomes, and equip millions of learners worldwide with essential workforce skills. This strategic alliance comes at a pivotal moment, as the adoption of AI in education is rapidly accelerating. Recent research from Cengage Group indicates that 62% of students are already utilizing AI for academic purposes, primarily for summarizing complex concepts (67%) and creating study materials (55%).
One of the key innovations stemming from this collaboration is the AI Leveler Tool. Launched in beta earlier this year, this generative AI-powered tool empowers K-12 educators to adjust and personalize the reading level of instructional content for individual students. Developed in close partnership with AWS’s Generative AI Innovation Team, the AI Leveler is currently being piloted in numerous school districts, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from a teacher panel: 94% rated the tool’s quality as good, 90% viewed it favorably compared to other solutions, and a resounding 100% expressed their intent to use it in their classrooms.
Looking ahead, Cengage Group and AWS plan to deepen their collaboration by expanding initiatives that leverage generative AI to further improve learner engagement and outcomes. This includes developing LLM-agnostic architecture to utilize the most effective AI models, embedding responsible AI practices throughout their solutions, and designing systems that can be scaled quickly and reliably to meet global educational demands.
