This collaboration leverages CamCom’s proprietary Large Vision Model (LVM), trained on over 450 million images, to enable accurate and efficient damage assessments via smartphone uploads, aiming to enhance transparency and reduce subjectivity in the insurance claims process.
Bengaluru-based CamCom Technologies, a pioneer in computer vision and AI, has announced a strategic partnership with ERGO Group AG, a prominent European insurance provider. This landmark collaboration will see CamCom serve as the primary technology partner for ERGO’s AI-powered visual inspection solutions, which are being rolled out across various European markets for motor and homeowners’ insurance. The solution is already operational in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, with further phased deployments planned across other ERGO markets in Europe.
At the core of this innovative solution is CamCom’s proprietary Large Vision Model (LVM), touted as the world’s first domain-specific AI engine for defect and damage detection on surfaces. This LVM has been meticulously trained on an extensive dataset of over 450 million customer-validated images, enabling it to accurately recognize and contextualize photo and video material for damage assessment. The technology allows insurance customers to capture and upload images of vehicles or properties using their smartphones, facilitating precise, auditable, and scalable pre-inspection and damage assessments. This process significantly reduces subjectivity, improves efficiency, and enhances transparency for both insurers and customers.
Geetha Sham, Director and President – Europe, CamCom Technologies, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “This partnership marks a milestone in our global journey and reinforces our commitment to delivering scalable, high-performance AI solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of the insurance sector.” Mark Klein, Chief Digital Officer and Member of the Board of Management, ERGO Group AG, emphasized the practical benefits of the technology, noting, “Good technology is not just innovative — it must be practical, scalable, and intuitive. CamCom’s AI solution meets all these criteria, and we’re excited to expand this collaboration beyond India and into our European markets.”
