Bloomberg BQuant Recognized for Leading AI Solution in Historical Data Analysis at Inaugural Capital Markets Awards

TLDR: Bloomberg BQuant has been honored with the ‘Best AI Solution for Historical Data Analysis’ award at the A-Team Group’s inaugural AI in Capital Markets Awards 2025. This recognition highlights BQuant’s advanced capabilities in leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to extract actionable intelligence from vast historical datasets for financial market professionals.

Bloomberg BQuant, the company’s sophisticated analytics platform, has secured the prestigious ‘Best AI Solution for Historical Data Analysis’ award at the A-Team Group’s inaugural AI in Capital Markets Awards 2025. The award, announced on October 15, 2025, celebrates AI-powered systems that excel in deriving actionable insights from extensive historical datasets, crucial for backtesting, strategy refinement, and market trend analysis.

BQuant is an advanced suite of off-the-shelf data science solutions specifically engineered for the financial markets. It provides Bloomberg’s clients with operation-ready access to the firm’s comprehensive multi-asset-class financial and alternative data, along with robust analytics. This integration empowers customers to embed quantitative methodologies into their investment processes.

Key to BQuant’s functionality is its Python-based technology stack, which allows users to combine Bloomberg’s high-quality data and analytics with popular open-source data science libraries. The platform also offers pre-built template notebooks, facilitating the rapid development and testing of financial analyses, investment strategies, and market dashboards. Furthermore, BQuant equips users with tools to create dynamic visualizations, including heatmaps, scatterplots, box plots, and various charts. These creations can then be published as interactive applications, shareable with permissioned colleagues and pinnable to Bloomberg Launchpad.

Shawn Edwards, Bloomberg’s Chief Technology Officer, commented on the win, stating, “We designed BQuant to give our customers access to open source machine learning and data science tools that can help them advance their financial models and algorithms in order to unlock new investment strategies – while also making it quick and easy for users to take an idea from exploration to production.” He added, “We’re honored to be among the inaugural recipients of these awards, which reflect the growing importance of AI in transforming capital markets – improving operational efficiency, strengthening compliance, and supporting sustainable growth.”

Angela Wilbraham, CEO of A-Team Group, congratulated Bloomberg, noting, “These awards recognise outstanding achievements in the application of artificial intelligence within the financial services and capital markets sectors. The winners are chosen by our community and showcase remarkable innovation in developing solutions that address critical data and analytics challenges. You should feel immense pride in being a winner at our first ever awards program in this crucial and growing area of the market.”
