The second tool, ‘BBC Style Assist,’ addresses the challenge of reformatting local news stories, particularly those from the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS), to align with the BBC’s established editorial tone and style. This tool leverages a custom language model trained on thousands of existing BBC articles to produce drafts that adhere to the broadcaster’s stylistic guidelines, thereby streamlining a time-consuming process for journalists.
