TLDR: Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled significant advancements for its AI agent offerings with the introduction of the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Code Interpreter and the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Browser Tool. These new services aim to address critical challenges in deploying and scaling AI agents, providing secure code execution and seamless web interaction capabilities.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the preview of two pivotal additions to its Amazon Bedrock AgentCore suite: the AgentCore Code Interpreter and the AgentCore Browser Tool. These innovations, revealed at the AWS Summit New York City 2025, are designed to empower generative AI agents with enhanced capabilities for secure code execution and dynamic web interaction, thereby bridging the gap between AI prototypes and scalable enterprise deployments.
The Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Code Interpreter is a fully managed service that allows AI agents to securely write and execute code within isolated sandbox environments. This addresses a fundamental dilemma faced by organizations: while large language models (LLMs) can generate complex code, mathematical analyses, and data visualizations, executing this AI-generated code in production environments often introduces significant security vulnerabilities and operational complexities. The Code Interpreter minimizes these challenges by providing a purpose-built, enterprise-grade system for agentic AI workloads, supporting languages like Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript. It enables agents to perform complex calculations, validate reasoning, process data, and generate visualizations securely, even accessing internal data sources without compromising sensitive information.
Complementing this, the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Browser Tool offers a fully managed, pre-built cloud-based browser that enables generative AI agents to interact seamlessly with websites at scale. This tool tackles two key limitations: the static nature of foundation models, which require dynamic access to current information when APIs are unavailable, and the challenges organizations face in scaling web automation with AI for enterprise use cases. The AgentCore Browser Tool allows agents to perform tasks such as automating research, streamlining operations, and interacting with web-based applications with the scalability, reliability, and security inherent to AWS Cloud infrastructure. It provides complete navigation control, visual understanding, and integrates with frameworks like Playwright and Amazon Nova Act, supporting thousands of concurrent sessions for diverse use cases from customer service automation to large-scale data collection.

Swami Sivasubramanian, AWS VP for Agentic AI, highlighted AWS’s commitment to bringing the same principles of security, reliability, and data privacy to agentic AI that define its cloud computing services. The AgentCore suite, which also includes AgentCore Runtime, Memory, Gateway, Identity, and Observability, aims to provide a comprehensive set of services for deploying and operating highly effective AI agents using any framework and model. This move intensifies the competition among cloud providers to offer robust AI infrastructure platforms, as businesses increasingly seek solutions that can reliably scale AI-powered automation without significant operational overhead.
