AUSTIN, TX – Autonomize AI, a pioneering force in artificial intelligence for healthcare, has announced the successful closure of a $28 million Series A funding round. This significant investment elevates the company’s total capital raised to $32 million to date, underscoring strong investor confidence in its innovative approach to healthcare operations.
The funding round was spearheaded by prominent investors including Valtruis, The Cigna Group Ventures, and Tau Ventures, with additional strategic investors participating. Existing investors such as Asset Management Ventures, ATX Venture Partners, and Capital Factory also contributed to the round, reaffirming their commitment to Autonomize AI’s vision.
The newly secured capital is earmarked to significantly scale Autonomize AI’s Agentic AI Orchestration platform. This platform is designed to fundamentally ‘rewire’ healthcare operations, enabling healthcare knowledge workers to redirect their focus towards delivering superior patient care by alleviating the substantial administrative burden that currently contributes to high costs, clinician burnout, and fragmented patient experiences.
Founded in 2022 by Ganesh Padmanabhan and Kris Nair, Autonomize AI’s core mission is to make healthcare more accessible, efficient, and patient-centered through advanced AI. The company distinguishes itself by offering a purpose-built, healthcare-native orchestration engine, moving beyond generic generative AI solutions.
‘The current healthcare system is no longer suited for the way care is delivered today—and too often, patients and clinicians pay the price in delayed treatment, wasted time, and unnecessary friction,’ stated Ganesh Padmanabhan, CEO of Autonomize AI. He further emphasized, ‘Automation alone is not the answer for healthcare, but accountable, human-centered AI augmentation is. This funding will help us scale our platform to solve some of the most frustrating, high-impact operational challenges in healthcare, while keeping patients and care outcomes at the center.’
Autonomize AI’s platform deploys pre-trained, ready-to-deploy AI agents that function as intelligent ‘Copilots’ across some of the industry’s most demanding workflows. These include critical areas such as care management, utilization management, benefits checks, and chart reviews. Unlike traditional prompt-based systems, these agents operate within a coordinated, multi-agent system that deeply understands real-world healthcare workflows.
The platform has already demonstrated tangible results at scale within Fortune 100 healthcare enterprises. Key achievements include saving an estimated 36,000 clinical hours per month by automating repetitive administrative tasks, generating over 100,000 automated care plans monthly to facilitate higher-value patient interactions, and achieving up to 50% faster decisions on prior authorizations and claims, thereby accelerating patient access to vital care.
Mike Spadafore, Managing Director at Valtruis, commented on the investment, ‘There’s never been a more important time to apply AI in healthcare. Healthcare operators are ready, but they need partners who understand real workflows and can deliver results at scale. That takes more than technical talent — it requires deep knowledge of how care is delivered and paid for. Autonomize AI gets that.’ Craig Cimini, Head of The Cigna Group Ventures, added, ‘Autonomize AI’s vision for augmenting, not replacing, the people who power healthcare is one we share. We see tremendous potential in the company’s platform to drive scalable, responsible innovation in healthcare operations while ensuring patients and providers remain at the center of care.’
