Atolio Secures $24 Million in Series A Funding to Advance Private AI Enterprise Search

TLDR: Atolio, a company specializing in private AI-powered enterprise search, has successfully closed its Series A funding round, raising $24 million. The investment, led by Translink Capital with participation from IBM Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Acorn Pacific Ventures, and Parameter Ventures, will be utilized to accelerate product development, expand the organization, and scale company operations. The platform aims to provide secure and efficient access to knowledge within siloed enterprise systems.

SAN FRANCISCO – Atolio, a leading provider of private AI-powered enterprise search solutions, announced today the successful closure of its Series A funding round, securing $24 million. The significant investment, finalized on September 8, 2025, was spearheaded by Translink Capital and saw participation from prominent investors including IBM Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Acorn Pacific Ventures, and Parameter Ventures. This capital infusion is earmarked to fuel Atolio’s ambitious plans for accelerating product development, expanding its organizational footprint, and scaling its operational capabilities.

Founded in 2019, Atolio has rapidly established itself by deploying its fully-private search solution to a diverse range of leading enterprises across various industries. The company has demonstrated strong market traction, evidenced by securing multiple seven-figure contracts within the last three quarters alone.

David Lanstein, co-founder and CEO of Atolio, expressed enthusiasm about the funding, stating, “We are excited to build on our leadership as the safe and secure way that enterprises connect siloed systems of information. A company’s knowledge is the work product of their people, and we exist to help our clients access and leverage the knowledge they have been accruing over many years to help them run better businesses and organizations.”

The value of Atolio’s solution was further highlighted by Michael Hansen, CEO at Cengage, during an earnings call earlier this year. Hansen noted, “We are investing in automation to drive internal efficiencies like an AI-powered search with products such as Atolio to improve the availability of product and customer information to Sales and Marketing teams and reduce the effort required to find answers to day-to-day problems. We believe these tools will significantly increase productivity of our go to market teams.”

Jackie Yang, General Partner at Translink Capital, elaborated on the strategic importance of their investment: “Enterprise search is a key application where businesses can harness the power of generative AI, but protecting sensitive data remains a top priority. Organizations often require solutions that operate entirely within their own infrastructure to ensure data security. After receiving a request from a major financial institution, we sought a search platform that could be deployed on-premises or in the client’s private cloud. Atolio stands out as the only AI-powered solution capable of meeting these stringent requirements. We’re excited to lead Atolio’s Series A funding round, as many companies in the Translink network want to implement Atolio’s secure, AI-driven search solution.”

Emily Fontaine, Global Head of Venture Capital at IBM, also commented on the investment, emphasizing IBM’s commitment to addressing critical enterprise challenges. “IBM’s investment in Atolio underscores our commitment to solving a critical challenge that enterprises are facing today: unlocking and connecting knowledge across complex, siloed organizations. Atolio’s AI-powered platform is designed to deliver secure, seamless access to information, empowering enterprise teams to work smarter, faster, and with greater confidence.”
