London-based startup Archestra has announced a significant funding boost, securing £2.5 million to develop and expand its open-source platform aimed at safeguarding corporate data from the burgeoning risks associated with AI agents. The funding round was spearheaded by Concept Ventures, with additional participation from Zero Prime Ventures, Celero Ventures, RTP Global, Aloniq, and a consortium of angel investors.
As businesses rapidly adopt AI agents for various functions, including integration with email, HR platforms, and communication software like Slack, concerns have mounted regarding the unfettered access these novel technologies might gain to internal systems. Archestra positions its platform as essential ‘guardrails’ for AI data management, providing the necessary security layers to allow companies to safely leverage AI tools with their proprietary data.
Matvey Kukuy, co-founder and chief executive of Archestra, highlighted the current challenges, stating, “Model Context Protocol (MCP) is unlocking a new frontier for AI agents. But, right now, MCP is completely unsuitable for the enterprise.” He emphasized Archestra’s commitment to addressing this gap: “We’re building the security-first solution that will change this. Our open-source platform means anyone, whether you’re an engineer or a HR rep, can safely and impactfully integrate AI agents into your workflow – driving efficiency and impact at scale – without increasing risks.”
