At the heart of the iPhone 17’s advancements is the new A19 chip, which replaces the A18 and now incorporates dedicated neural accelerators within each GPU core. This architectural enhancement is specifically designed to power sophisticated generative AI models directly on the device, promising a more responsive and integrated AI experience. The iPhone 17 Pro, in particular, boasts an A19 Pro chip with a 16-core neural engine, further accelerating AI tasks.
Among the standout AI-powered features is an ‘AI-powered Adaptive Power’ function on iOS 26, which is expected to intelligently conserve battery life. The new Center Stage front camera, now upgraded to 18MP from 12MP, also leverages AI for improved framing and stabilization, allowing users to take landscape selfies without rotating the phone and offering ultra-stabilized video.
