SINGAPORE – Antom, a prominent merchant payment and digitization services provider under Ant International, today announced the introduction of its groundbreaking agentic payment solution. This new offering includes a first-of-its-kind secure Alternative Payment Method (APM) checkout solution and is designed to facilitate flexible and reliable payments for AI agents in commercial settings.
Antom is among the initial partners collaborating with global payment giants Mastercard and Visa to pilot card-based transaction capabilities for AI agents. This collaboration, specifically through Mastercard Agent Pay and Visa Intelligent Commerce in Asia Pacific, focuses on exploring tokenized card-based agentic payments, thereby advancing AI commerce with secure and seamless checkout experiences. The solution will pilot reliable and personalized agentic payments, incorporating tokenization, authentication, and transaction control tools.
According to Antom, a critical need for AI agents in commercial environments is the ability to complete payments efficiently and securely. The new agentic payment solution addresses this by offering broad payment method coverage, enabling convenient checkouts via both APMs and traditional credit cards. A key feature is its AI-ready payment mandate model, coupled with enhanced payment asset management, which ensures precise recognition of user intent while upholding transaction security and providing greater transparency for users.
Built upon the Model Context Protocol (MCP), this solution supports embedded payment flows through dialogue-based interactions with AI agents. It covers a range of transaction types, including confirmed purchase requests and conditional, pre-authorized transactions, such as purchases within predefined spending limits or for scheduled flash sales. The Antom agentic payment solution has also been open-sourced on GitHub, promoting wider adoption and collaborative development.
