Agentic AI Poised to Revolutionize Property Management Efficiency, Reapit Webinar Reveals

TLDR: A recent webinar hosted by Reapit highlighted the transformative potential of agentic AI in property management, moving beyond traditional automation and generative AI to systems that can learn, make decisions, and act autonomously, significantly boosting efficiency and supporting property professionals.

Reapit’s ‘Beyond the Basics’ artificial intelligence (AI) webinar, held on July 24, 2025, attracted over 350 property professionals, focusing on the industry’s shift from basic automation to advanced generative and agentic AI. The session delved into how agentic AI is set to significantly enhance efficiency across various aspects of property operations.

Attendees raised pertinent questions regarding the evolving role of agents in an AI-enabled market, the most beneficial areas for AI implementation, and its potential to assist with lead nurturing, maintenance, client communications, and compliance with new regulations like the Renters’ Rights Bill. Data privacy and security were also key discussion points.

Kieran McGurk, Product Director at Reapit, emphasized that ‘AI should support agents, not replace them.’ He further stated, ‘We’re also not building generic tools, but AI that understands estate agency, from valuations to lettings, compliance to customer care.’ McGurk advised the use of ‘enterprise-grade AI tools and providing thorough training on responsible use’ given current concerns about consumer privacy and enterprise data security.

Kelly Mullins, also a Product Director at Reapit, elaborated on the distinction of agentic AI: ‘AI today is not just about replacing repetitive tasks with automation. And its potential goes beyond today’s generative AI, which relies on public or prompt-entered data to spot patterns and provide answers. Agentic AI learns continuously and can make decisions and act without being prompted.’ Mullins explained that agentic AI can be integrated into business systems to make real-time, goal-driven decisions and act on behalf of agents within defined limits, allowing them to concentrate on deals and customer service. She provided a practical example: while an automated system might send a template response and notify a property manager, ‘Agentic AI would understand the request, assess urgency, create a works order, and contact a contractor, moving from reaction to secure, informed action.’

Beyond the webinar, the broader real estate sector is recognizing the profound impact of agentic AI. Unlike generative tools that await prompts, agentic AI takes initiative, acting proactively. Sharon Love Bates, Director of Emerging Tech at the National Association of Realtors, likened it to ‘an additional co-worker’ that can ‘handle tasks independently, make decisions, and improve as it goes.’ Potential applications span marketing, lead generation, and particularly property management, where agentic AI could manage tenant inquiries, oversee IoT sensors for predictive maintenance, and handle rent collection and payment processing. MRI is already piloting agentic AI to streamline month-end close processes for REITs, aiming to reduce workloads significantly and boost accuracy. However, experts like Anand stress the importance of governance to mitigate risks such as AI ‘hallucinations’ that could lead to incorrect information or miscalculations.
