Aether, an innovative artificial intelligence marketing presentation startup, has announced a successful seed funding round, securing $4 million. The company, co-founded by Carsten Grueber, who recently served as the general manager of TikTok’s New Zealand operations, unveiled its venture at Icehouse Ventures’ annual Showcase event.
Aether’s core offering is a platform that leverages AI to streamline and enhance the creation of marketing presentations. Grueber, speaking ahead of the event, detailed Aether’s mission to revolutionize how businesses develop their marketing materials.
The startup emerged from New+Improved, a “venture studio” known for launching other successful ventures like brand-tracking startup Tracksuit (which recently raised $42 million) and insights platform Ideally (which secured $6 million).
The leadership team at Aether also includes Ursula von Keisenberg, a Melbourne-based co-founder with a background as ANZ managing director at Timely and emerging markets sales lead at Xero Asia. Rosanna Dedecius, formerly with Datacom, serves as the head of customer, while Daniel Alexander-Head, previously a regional sales manager at US brand-building software firm Qualtrics, leads product and strategy from Sydney.
The $4 million seed raise is earmarked for accelerating product development and expanding Aether’s global team, which currently spans Australia and New Zealand. Grueber noted that while he has a history with Big Tech, the startup environment is a familiar and exciting space for him.

New+Improved co-founder Simon Pound highlighted that the concept for Aether arose from extensive interviews with hundreds of marketing leaders and enterprise marketing businesses, revealing a recurring issue of time wasted on presentations and inefficient activation of institutional knowledge. Aether aims to address these pain points by providing an AI-powered solution.
