Adobe Firefly Boards Expands Globally, Integrating Advanced AI Video Models and Enhanced Collaborative Features

TLDR: Adobe has announced the global launch of its generative AI-powered moodboarding platform, Firefly Boards, on September 25, 2025. The platform now includes two new industry-leading AI video models, Runway Aleph and Moonvalley Marey, alongside existing models from partners like Google and Luma AI. Firefly Boards aims to revolutionize creative ideation and collaboration with new tools such as Describe Image, Generative Text Edit (beta), and Presets, offering creators a unified space for exploration and iteration.

Adobe has officially rolled out its generative AI-powered moodboarding tool, Firefly Boards, for global availability, effective September 25, 2025. This strategic expansion follows a successful beta phase, providing creative professionals worldwide with an AI-first platform designed to streamline the ideation, exploration, and real-time collaboration stages of their projects.

Central to this global launch are the additions of two new, industry-leading AI video models: Runway Aleph and Moonvalley Marey. These models significantly enhance the platform’s capabilities, allowing creators to generate storyboards, motion clips, and visual narratives directly within Firefly Boards. These new integrations join an already robust ecosystem of generative models, including Luma AI’s Ray3 and Ray2, Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Image and Veo 3, Pika 2.2, Flux.1 Kontext, and Runway Gen-4, among others. This diverse selection provides creators with multiple starting points and aesthetic styles for content generation and multi-modal workflows.

Adobe’s vision for Firefly is to create a central hub where creators can access the best AI models and seamlessly integrate them with their existing Adobe tools. As Subramaniam, an Adobe representative, stated, ‘Our vision is to make Adobe Firefly the place where creators of all kinds can access the very best models in one place — including in Firefly Boards — and use them seamlessly with the Adobe tools they rely on.’ She further elaborated on potential use cases, envisioning a filmmaker using Runway Aleph to quickly generate storyboards, or a design team leveraging Moonvalley Marey to create dynamic motion clips for brand campaigns.

Beyond the new video models, Firefly Boards introduces several innovative features to simplify creative workflows. The ‘Describe Image’ tool allows users to analyze an image within Boards. ‘Generative Text Edit’ (currently in beta) enables direct modification of text within visuals, maintaining context without leaving the platform. Additionally, ‘Presets’ offer one-click generation of images in various styles, such as product mockups, character designs, or virtual try-ons, powered by Adobe Firefly and partner models.
