ADaSci Unveils SkillIndex Framework to Assess Organizational AI Readiness

TLDR: The Association of Data Scientists (ADaSci) has launched SkillIndex, a new framework designed to help organizations benchmark their AI skilling maturity. This tool provides a quantitative score and a maturity level across five key dimensions, offering a customized roadmap for upskilling in response to the growing demand for AI talent.

The Association of Data Scientists (ADaSci) has introduced SkillIndex, a comprehensive framework aimed at assisting organizations in evaluating and advancing their Artificial Intelligence (AI) skill readiness. This initiative addresses a critical challenge faced by many enterprises: understanding their true AI capabilities and charting a clear path for workforce transformation.

SkillIndex offers a detailed assessment of an organization’s AI capabilities across five core dimensions:

1. Awareness & Literacy: Understanding fundamental AI concepts.

2. Breadth of Adoption: The extent to which AI is integrated across different departments.

3. Depth of Expertise: The proficiency level of employees in AI technologies.

4. Integration into Workflows: How deeply AI is embedded in daily operational processes.

5. Leadership & Culture: The commitment of leadership and the organizational culture towards AI adoption.

Following the assessment, each participating organization receives a quantitative score and a designated maturity level, ranging from ‘Awareness’ to ‘Transformational’. Crucially, the framework also provides a customized roadmap for upskilling, guiding companies on how to enhance their AI competencies.

This launch comes at a pivotal moment, as the demand for talent skilled in generative AI and agentic systems is rapidly outstripping the available supply. ADaSci’s approach goes beyond conventional training metrics by scrutinizing how deeply AI is integrated into daily operations, strategic leadership, and the overall organizational culture.

To facilitate this, the rollout includes a digital survey platform that automatically calculates the AI SkillIndex score. This platform also generates visual dashboards for easy interpretation and provides tailored learning paths. Organizations can further request a free consultation with ADaSci experts to help interpret their results and design bespoke skilling programs. Through SkillIndex, ADaSci aims to make AI skilling a measurable, accountable, and transformative process, enabling companies to transition from mere experimentation to impactful AI implementation.
