Abu Dhabi University (ADU) and Knowledge Group Consulting (KGC) have announced the successful conclusion of the ExxonMobil Future STEM Leaders Summer Camp, a pivotal initiative aimed at cultivating the next generation of STEM professionals in the UAE. The two-week program, which concluded on August 11, 2025, saw the participation of over 35 enthusiastic Emirati high school students.
Designed and delivered collaboratively by ADU and KGC, the camp provided an intensive learning journey that seamlessly integrated technical skill development with practical industry exposure. Participants engaged in a diverse range of hands-on workshops covering future-focused topics such as drone engineering, data analytics, robotics, structural engineering, water treatment, and plastic waste recycling. Beyond technical skills, the program also incorporated career-focused sessions and essential life-skills development, preparing students for the demands of a rapidly evolving global workforce.
Mohammed Alamin, President of ExxonMobil in the UAE, expressed his satisfaction with the program’s impact, stating, “It was truly inspiring to witness the energy, curiosity, and ambition of the students at the ExxonMobil Future STEM Leaders Summer Camp. This program has been a resounding success in sparking a passion for STEM among young Emirati minds, and we are proud to have played a role in shaping their journey toward future careers in science and technology.”
Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, highlighted the critical importance of STEM education in today’s world. “STEM careers are among the fastest-growing fields worldwide,” he noted. “At Abu Dhabi University, we are committed to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry needs through future-focused learning experiences. The Future STEM Leaders Summer Camp is a launchpad that equips Emirati youth with the skills, creativity, and adaptability to excel in tomorrow’s high-impact industries.” He further emphasized that STEM skills are crucial for developing critical thinking, creativity, technology, and analytical abilities, which are highly valued across all sectors.

This initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance the STEM workforce in the UAE. A renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ADU and ExxonMobil, signed in November 2024, explicitly includes ExxonMobil sponsoring scholarships for ADU’s College of Engineering students pursuing STEM and artificial intelligence (AI) degrees, with a new primary focus on scholarships in Robotics and AI. This strategic collaboration underscores a shared commitment to innovation and knowledge-driven growth, empowering students to become future leaders who will drive profound change in the UAE and beyond.
