Qualifire AI Unveils Rogue: A Comprehensive Framework for Agentic AI Testing and Evaluation

TLDR: Qualifire AI has launched Rogue, an open-source Python framework designed for end-to-end testing of AI agents. Rogue addresses the complexities of evaluating agentic systems by converting business policies into executable scenarios, facilitating multi-turn interactions, and generating deterministic reports for performance, compliance, and reliability assessments. It supports integration into CI/CD pipelines and offers detailed observability features.

Qualifire AI has officially released Rogue, an innovative end-to-end agentic AI testing framework aimed at rigorously evaluating the performance, compliance, and reliability of AI agents. This new open-source Python framework is designed to overcome the limitations of traditional quality assurance methods, which often fall short when dealing with the stochastic, context-dependent, and policy-bounded nature of modern agentic systems.

Rogue operates by converting intricate business policies into executable test scenarios. It then orchestrates multi-turn interactions with a target AI agent, providing a robust mechanism to expose vulnerabilities that conventional testing approaches like unit tests, static prompts, or scalar ‘LLM-as-a-judge’ scores might miss. The framework is built upon the Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol, ensuring protocol-accurate conversations and explicit policy checks.

A key feature of Rogue is its ability to synthesize business context and risk into structured tests, complete with clear objectives, tactics, and success criteria. The EvaluatorAgent within Rogue can conduct protocol-correct conversations in both fast single-turn and deep multi-turn adversarial modes. Developers have the flexibility to use their own models for evaluation or leverage Qualifire’s bespoke Small Language Model (SLM) judges to drive these tests.

For development teams, Rogue delivers machine-readable evidence and deterministic reports, making it highly suitable for integration into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and for compliance reviews. The framework also offers streaming observability and generates comprehensive artifacts, including live transcripts, clear pass/fail verdicts, rationales directly tied to transcript spans, timing data, and model/version lineage. This level of detail provides strong audit trails and enables confident release gating.

Installation of Rogue is streamlined, with a recommended quick install script available. Alternatively, users can manually clone the GitHub repository, install dependencies using `uv sync` or `pip install -e .`, and configure API keys for various LLM providers (such as OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic) via a `.env` file, as Rogue utilizes LiteLLM. Prerequisites include `uvx` and Python 3.10+.
