Brookfield and Bloom Energy Announce $5 Billion Strategic Partnership to Power AI Infrastructure

TLDR: Brookfield and Bloom Energy have formed a $5 billion strategic partnership to develop and deploy ‘AI factories’ globally. Brookfield will invest up to $5 billion to utilize Bloom’s advanced fuel cell technology, providing reliable, scalable, and clean onsite power for the massive energy demands of artificial intelligence infrastructure, addressing limitations of traditional power grids.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – October 13, 2025 – Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE), a prominent leader in power solutions, and Brookfield, a global asset manager, today unveiled a groundbreaking $5 billion strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing AI infrastructure. This collaboration marks the initial phase of a shared vision to construct ‘AI factories’ designed to meet the escalating compute and power requirements of artificial intelligence globally.

Under the terms of the agreement, Brookfield will commit up to $5 billion to deploy Bloom Energy’s cutting-edge fuel cell technology. These advanced fuel cells are intended to serve as the preferred onsite power provider for Brookfield’s burgeoning network of AI factories. The partnership emphasizes a holistic approach to AI infrastructure, integrating compute, power, data center architecture, and capital to ensure rapid deployment and real-time load responsiveness.

KR Sridhar, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Bloom Energy, highlighted the critical need for this innovative approach, stating, “AI infrastructure must be built like a factory—with purpose, speed, and scale. Unlike traditional factories, AI factories demand massive power, rapid deployment and real-time load responsiveness that legacy grids cannot support.” He further emphasized that the ‘lean AI factory’ concept is achieved when power, infrastructure, and compute are designed in sync from day one.

Sikander Rashid, Brookfield’s Global Head of AI Infrastructure, underscored the strategic importance of Bloom’s technology. “Bloom’s advanced fuel cell technology gives us the unique capability to design and construct modern AI factories with a holistic and innovative approach to power needs,” Rashid commented. “As the world’s largest AI infrastructure investor, this partnership adds a powerful new tool to our global growth strategy, especially in a grid-constrained market environment.”

This partnership represents Brookfield’s inaugural investment under its dedicated AI Infrastructure strategy, which focuses on large AI factories, power solutions, compute infrastructure, and strategic capital partnerships. This strategy builds upon Brookfield’s extensive track record of over $100 billion invested in digital infrastructure worldwide.

Bloom Energy has already established a strong presence in the data center sector, having deployed hundreds of megawatts of its fuel cell technology to power critical digital infrastructure through existing partnerships with companies such as American Electric Power (AEP), Equinix, and Oracle. The rapid expansion of AI is placing unprecedented strain on existing power grids, making reliable, scalable, and off-grid energy solutions increasingly vital. The companies are actively collaborating on the design and delivery of these AI factories, with the first site in Europe expected to be announced before the end of the year.
