Search Party Secures $3.5 Million to Empower Brands in Managing AI Search Visibility

TLDR: Search Party, a new startup specializing in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), has officially launched with $3.5 million in seed funding. The company aims to provide brands with unprecedented visibility and control over their presence in AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, addressing the growing shift of consumers towards AI for search and discovery.

SAN FRANCISCO – Search Party, an innovative startup focused on Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), has emerged from stealth mode, announcing a successful $3.5 million funding round. The investment, led by Fuse, a prominent early-stage VC firm known for its focus on SaaS and AI companies, positions Search Party to revolutionize how brands interact with the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-powered search and discovery. The company’s mission is to equip brands with the tools to track and control their visibility within leading AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity.

The launch comes at a pivotal time, as nearly half of all consumers are reportedly turning to AI over traditional search engines like Google for their information needs. This significant shift underscores the urgent requirement for brands to adapt their digital strategies beyond conventional SEO. Search Party addresses this by offering a comprehensive platform that not only provides visibility into how brands appear in AI-generated answers but also offers unprecedented control over that presence.

Unlike earlier GEO tools that primarily focused on tracking, Search Party delves deeper by revealing the specific sources from which AI models draw their answers. Following this identification, the platform activates autonomous workflows designed to generate strategies and content that can influence these sources. Ryan Brown, CTO and co-founder, emphasized this capability, stating, “AI models respond to the signals we feed them. We give brands the technical visibility to see which sources shape those signals and the tools to influence them. Because if you don’t write the story, someone else will.”

Beyond source identification, Search Party offers robust prompt-level analytics. Users can store and analyze an unlimited number of queries related to their brand and products, benchmark their performance against competitors, and translate these insights into actionable strategies. The ultimate goal is to improve how large language models describe and represent brands.

Brandon Brown, CEO and co-founder, highlighted the paradigm shift in marketing: “You aren’t just marketing to people anymore. You’re marketing to AI, and AI is marketing to people. That means you need to show up in the places AI trusts, and present your content in a way that it understands. That’s what Search Party is built for.” Both Brandon and Ryan Brown bring a strong entrepreneurial background, having previously co-founded GRIN, a leading creator management platform and Sacramento’s first tech unicorn.
