She developed an innovative AI-powered nutrition assistant utilizing Natural Language Processing and computer vision to provide personalized dietary advice, bringing immense pride to her state and inspiring youth in technology.

New Delhi, India – In a significant recognition of burgeoning talent in artificial intelligence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, October 5, 2025, honored Talluri Pallavi, a 22-year-old from Telangana’s Khammam district, with the prestigious National Award in the Artificial Intelligence Programming Assistant (AIPA) category. The award was presented at the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, celebrating Pallavi’s exceptional work in AI programming and her development of a groundbreaking AI-powered nutrition assistant.

Pallavi’s innovative application is designed to revolutionize personal health management by offering tailored dietary recommendations. The system leverages advanced Artificial Intelligence techniques, specifically Natural Language Processing (NLP) for conversational queries and computer vision for accurate food recognition. This allows the assistant to not only identify food items on a plate but also to understand user input through text and images, providing personalized advice on what to eat next, thereby promoting healthier everyday choices.

The achievement has sparked immense pride across Telangana, particularly in her native Khammam district. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was among the first to extend his congratulations, stating, “It is a matter of immense joy that a girl from our Khammam district has excelled at the national level in AI. Pallavi’s success is a reminder of the talent that exists in our rural areas and a call for our youth to explore new frontiers in science and technology.” Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy echoed these sentiments, calling it a proud moment for Khammam and the Palair segment.

Talluri Pallavi, a native of Arempula village, located approximately 6 km from the Khammam district headquarters, completed her BTech in computer science from KITS College, having pursued her entire education in Khammam from Class 1 onwards. Her journey is a testament to determination and hard work, qualities she attributes to her father, Talluri Ravi, a private electrician who tirelessly supported her educational aspirations. Ravi expressed his profound joy, remarking, “I have no other dream except to see my two daughters in big positions.” Pallavi is the elder of two siblings; her younger sister, Lavanya, has completed her MBA and is currently pursuing other courses in Khammam.
