TLDR: A two-day generative AI hackathon, ‘Les Clefs de Versailles: Agentic Hackathon au Château,’ is set to take place at the historic Château de Versailles on September 29-30, 2025. Organized by datacraft in collaboration with the Château, the event challenges engineers and researchers to develop AI-powered assistants for personalized visitor itineraries, leveraging advanced AI technologies like RAG and Agentic models. Wavestone is among the expert mentors supporting the initiative.
The iconic Château de Versailles is set to host a groundbreaking ‘Generative AI Hackathon’ on September 29-30, 2025, a collaborative effort between datacraft and the Château itself. Titled ‘Les Clefs de Versailles: Agentic Hackathon au Château,’ this two-day challenge aims to harness the power of artificial intelligence to transform the visitor experience at one of France’s most renowned heritage sites.
The hackathon will bring together expert engineers and researchers specializing in the latest generative AI technologies, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic models, and Multi-Agent Systems (MCP). Their primary objective is to design an intelligent assistant capable of creating personalized tour itineraries for visitors based on simple natural language queries.
The complexity of the Château de Versailles’ vast domain, with its numerous attractions and varying conditions, currently makes it challenging for visitors to plan their visits effectively. The proposed AI assistant will need to account for a multitude of factors, such as the desired duration of the visit, the time of year, anticipated crowd levels, weather conditions, budget constraints, the presence of children, and individual cultural preferences. This ambitious undertaking seeks to develop innovative solutions that match the grandeur of Versailles itself.
Key industry players and institutions are supporting the event, with expert mentors and jury members drawn from the Château de Versailles, datacraft, Illuin Technology, Mistral, and Wavestone. Their collective expertise will guide participants in pushing the boundaries of AI application in cultural heritage.
The hackathon’s intensive schedule includes:
• Monday, September 29: An introduction session from 9:05 AM to 9:40 AM, where datacraft and the Château de Versailles will present the problem statement, dataset, evaluation criteria, and introduce the mentors and jury. This will be followed by a dedicated coding period from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
• Tuesday, September 30: Another full day of coding from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, culminating in submissions between 5:00 PM and 5:15 PM. The jury will then review the projects from 5:15 PM to 6:45 PM, leading to a VIP Cocktail and the announcement of results from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
