Indian-Origin Innovators Recognized in TIME100 AI 2025 for Shaping Artificial Intelligence’s Future

The prestigious TIME100 AI 2025 list, released on August 28, 2025, by the 102-year-old global media brand TIME, features six Indian-origin leaders recognized for their groundbreaking advancements and influence in the field of artificial intelligence. These innovators, leaders, shapers, and thinkers are at the forefront of redefining industries and addressing critical global challenges through AI.

Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation, is celebrated for his leadership in envisioning ‘sentient enterprises’ powered by agentic AI and human collaboration. Under his guidance, Cognizant has made substantial investments in generative AI, launching its Agent Foundry platform, securing 59 patents, and upskilling millions through its Synapse program. Kumar advocates for AI’s role in democratizing expertise rather than eliminating jobs, a philosophy underscored by Cognizant’s world’s largest vibe coding event, which saw over 30,000 projects from 40 countries. He was also honored with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award in 2025.

Maithra Raghu, co-founder and CEO of Samaya AI, is transforming the finance industry with AI-driven insights. Her startup specializes in financial intelligence, providing research reports and complex economic analyses to Wall Street giants. Samaya AI has collaborated with major tech players like Meta, Amazon, and Google Brain, and recently raised $43.5 million, unveiling ‘Causal World Models’ to evaluate global economic scenarios. Raghu notes the exponential growth of the financial information ecosystem, stating, ‘Most importantly, the kinds of sources and reporting and insights on the global market have just grown so much.

Navrina Singh, founder and CEO of Credo AI, is a pivotal figure in AI governance. Her company’s mission is to provide businesses with ‘visibility into their systems’ failures,’ particularly in detecting risks such as bias, compliance issues, and hallucinations in generative AI. Credo AI has seen remarkable growth, quadrupling its revenue and doubling its customer base in the past year, with clients including Mastercard and McKinsey. Singh also plays an active role in advising U.S. and international regulatory bodies on responsible AI oversight.

Priya Donti, co-founder of Climate Change AI and an Assistant Professor at MIT, is pioneering the integration of machine learning with climate change solutions. Her work focuses on developing AI models for forecasting, optimization, and control within high-renewables power grids, aiming to accelerate decarbonization efforts at a crucial time for the planet’s energy future.

Kakul Srivastava, CEO of Splice, is reimagining music creation through AI. Her work centers on AI-powered discovery tools while ensuring that artists remain at the core of the creative process. Splice’s platform enables musicians to transform sounds into virtual instruments and automatically earn royalties.
