TLDR: Salesforce has announced its ‘Agents for Impact’ accelerator program for 2025, aimed at empowering nonprofit organizations to leverage AI agents and Salesforce technology. The program offers significant funding, cutting-edge technology, and expert pro bono support to help nonprofits develop customized AI solutions, enhance operational efficiency, and amplify their social impact amidst staffing challenges.
Salesforce has officially unveiled its ‘Agents for Impact’ accelerator program for 2025, a strategic initiative designed to equip nonprofit organizations with the tools and expertise needed to harness the power of artificial intelligence. This program underscores Salesforce’s commitment to fostering a future where human efforts are augmented by AI agents to drive significant social impact globally.
The accelerator is specifically tailored to help nonprofits integrate ‘Agentforce,’ a new layer on the Salesforce Platform that enables the creation and deployment of AI agents capable of autonomously executing tasks across various business functions. These AI agents are envisioned to empower teams in areas such as grant-making, marketing, fundraising, and operations, allowing them to ‘do more with less’ by increasing efficiency and freeing staff to concentrate on mission-critical work. This is particularly crucial given the current challenges of staffing shortages and burnout within the nonprofit sector.
The comprehensive six-month accelerator program offers a robust package of support, including:
Flexible Funding: Each selected nonprofit organization will receive between $200,000 and $300,000 in flexible funding.
Cutting-Edge Technology: Participants will gain access to donated and discounted Salesforce products, specifically designed to support their AI agent solutions. This includes a general understanding of Salesforce technology and products like Einstein and Agentforce.
Expert Coaching and Consulting: The program provides one-on-one and group coaching sessions led by Salesforce experts. These sessions will cover critical topics such as AI strategy, product design, rapid-cycle research and development, and change management. Additionally, nonprofits will benefit from one year of part-time consulting from Salesforce employee volunteers with technical expertise, along with access to other specialists as needed.
Eligibility for the ‘Agents for Impact’ program is open to US 501(c)(3) organizations, fiscally sponsored entities, or international equivalents. Prospective participants must demonstrate a clear vision for how AI agents and Salesforce technology can uniquely enhance their impact. Key requirements also include data readiness, robust technical infrastructure, and the organizational capacity to implement and manage AI solutions. Applicants should have the readiness, staffing, leadership support, and knowledge to engage in the six-month program, with a willingness to demo their solution in a sandbox environment within that timeframe and share their learnings with the broader nonprofit sector.
This initiative marks the fifth accelerator launched by Salesforce since 2022, building on a track record of success. Previous accelerators have seen nonprofits like College Possible utilize AI agents to guide college coaches and provide 24/7 student support, Good360 optimize disaster response logistics, and Per Scholas leverage agents for resume drafting assistance for learners and coaches.
Salesforce emphasizes that AI agents can autonomously manage diverse tasks, from donor engagement and fundraising to logistics, volunteer management, and report drafting, thereby significantly enhancing nonprofits’ service delivery to their communities. The program aims to bridge the gap for many nonprofits for whom building advanced AI solutions might otherwise be out of reach.
