AI’s Creative Liberation in Media: Key Insights from India Web Fest 2025

TLDR: The India Web Fest 2025 featured a pivotal knowledge session on ‘AI In Media,’ where industry experts highlighted Artificial Intelligence not as a replacement for human creativity but as a powerful tool for liberation and enhancement in content creation, production, and audience engagement. The discussion emphasized AI’s role in streamlining workflows, enabling rapid prototyping, and personalizing media experiences.

Mumbai, August 26, 2025 – The seventh season of the India Web Fest 2025 hosted a significant knowledge session titled ‘AI In Media,’ shedding light on the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on the media landscape. The session, prominently featured by IWMBuzz, underscored a paradigm shift where AI is perceived as a catalyst for creative freedom rather than a threat to human roles.

Sagar Autade, a Cloud Solutions Architect at Workmates Go To Cloud, was a key speaker, framing AI’s integration not as a technological triumph but as a ‘creative liberation.’ Autade’s perspective, grounded in practical industry advancements, emphasized that AI is already deeply embedded in media workflows, quietly enhancing various stages from scripting and voiceovers to marketing and monetization. He noted, ‘Artificial Intelligence, especially in its generative form, is not rewriting the rules of media. It’s helping storytellers bend them with more freedom, speed, and precision.’

The discussion highlighted several tangible applications of AI in media. What once required extensive teams, multiple revisions, and days of production can now be accomplished in mere hours. Examples included the rapid generation of alternate script endings, seamless regional dubbing with accurate lip-sync and emotional nuances, and instant sentiment feedback from global audiences, all contributing to informed creative and strategic decisions.

Beyond content creation, AI is revolutionizing audience interaction. Autade pointed out that personalized experiences are now the norm, with AI-powered engines on OTT platforms learning, adapting, and curating content to deliver ‘their content’ to individual viewers. This signifies a move towards agile, intelligent, inclusive, and deeply personalized media consumption.

The overarching message from the session was clear: AI is not poised to replace creators but rather to eliminate friction between imagination and execution. It empowers directors to experiment with bold ideas without prohibitive budget concerns, allows journalists to concentrate on truth-telling while automation handles formatting, and enables marketers to engage more meaningfully with their audiences. The future of media, as envisioned at the India Web Fest, remains fundamentally human at its core, with AI serving as an indispensable partner in innovation.
