Fujitsu and Microsoft Collaborate to Enhance Sales Efficiency with Azure AI Agent Service

TLDR: Fujitsu and Microsoft have partnered to develop an intelligent, scalable AI agent for sales automation using Azure AI Agent Service, significantly boosting productivity and laying the groundwork for broader AI-driven transformation.

Fujitsu, a global leader in information and communication technology (ICT), has announced a significant collaboration with Microsoft to revolutionize its sales operations through the implementation of Azure AI Agent Service. This partnership, building on a long-standing relationship between the two technology giants, has led to the development of an intelligent and scalable AI agent specifically designed for sales automation.

The project, spearheaded by Hirotaka Ito, Lead Engineer of AI, Digital System Platform Unit at Fujitsu, leveraged Microsoft’s platform-as-a-service (PaaS) capabilities within Azure AI Foundry. This strategic move ensured seamless integration of the AI agent into Fujitsu’s existing workflows, enabling it to automate foundational proposal tasks that previously consumed extensive manual effort from sales teams.

A key outcome of this initiative is a remarkable 67% boost in productivity, allowing Fujitsu’s sales teams to reallocate their focus from time-consuming administrative tasks to high-value activities such as strategic planning, cultivating customer relationships, and crafting tailored solutions for clients. The AI-driven agent is capable of interpreting user inputs, integrating data from diverse sources across Fujitsu’s vast infrastructure, and generating precise, up-to-date proposals in a fraction of the time.

At the core of this innovative solution is Fujitsu Kozuchi Composite AI, which is powered by Semantic Kernel, a tool designed to orchestrate multiple specialized AI agents. This modular design and orchestration feature of Azure AI Agent Service are expected to further expand the capabilities of these tools, as noted by Ito.

The integration of this AI agent with existing Microsoft tools, familiar to approximately 38,000 Fujitsu employees, facilitates widespread adoption and lays a robust foundation for future AI-driven innovations across the company. Fujitsu envisions AI as a transformative force, empowering employees and enhancing overall productivity. As stated by a Fujitsu representative, “AI will support our customers’ needs more effectively by handling tasks and developing strategies, making employees more efficient, and enabling innovation at a level previously unattainable.” This collaboration underscores how AI automation can empower teams, optimize operations, and create substantial value for customers, both within Fujitsu and beyond.
