In their inaugural participation, all 13 projects submitted by the university garnered awards, demonstrating the breadth and depth of their research capabilities. These projects spanned diverse fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), smart manufacturing, and intelligent transportation.
The university’s impressive haul includes a total of 14 awards, specifically 8 gold medals and 5 silver medals. A highlight among these accolades is the special award bestowed upon the AI-based Fencing Training and Assessment System. This innovative project, spearheaded by Professor Sam Kwong Tak-wu, Associate Vice-President (Strategic Research), received the prestigious Prize of the International Federation of Inventors’ Association (IFIA). This particular recognition underscores the system’s significant impact and ingenuity.
This outstanding performance has positioned Lingnan University as the top-performing higher education institution from Hong Kong at this year’s festival, both in terms of the total number of awards and the quantity of gold medals secured. Professor S.
