The program specifically highlights how AI is reshaping industries, including its transformative role in revolutionizing financial services by enhancing efficiency. An upcoming episode is slated to delve deeper into the transformative potential of AI within the financial sector, exploring how it can facilitate high-quality growth.

Hosted by Mr. Nicholas Chan Hiu-Fung, BBS, MH, JP, Hong Kong Deputy to the National People’s Congress and a Board Member of Cyberport, “AI for Humans” features an exceptional roster of over 70 prominent experts. These include senior government officials, influential industry leaders, visionary academics, pioneering entrepreneurs, and representatives from leading innovation and technology enterprises. Notable figures include Professor Sun Dong, JP, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry; Mr. Simon Chan Sai-Ming, BBS, JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited; and Ir. Tony Wong Chi-kong, JP, Commissioner for Digital Policy, Digital Policy Office.

The series kicked off with its inaugural episode, “Star-Studded Premiere – Hong Kong’s AI Ecosystem Unveiled,” which spotlighted the collaboration among five pivotal sectors: the Government, industry, academia, research, and investment. Viewers gained valuable insights into how government policies are bolstering research capabilities, accelerating the commercialization of innovation, and fostering a robust innovation and technology ecosystem, positioning Hong Kong as a formidable contender in the global tech race.

Industry leaders on the show discuss diverse applications of AI across sectors such as finance, healthcare, and tourism, offering a comprehensive overview of how AI is reshaping these industries. The program also sheds light on AI’s transformative role in revolutionizing industries, including enhancing efficiency in financial services, personalizing travel experiences through smart tourism, and advancing healthcare with groundbreaking diagnostic tools and patient management solutions.

The second episode, titled “AI in Hong Kong: From Trends to Practical Uses,” showcased the city’s significant achievements and strategic plans in AI development, examining topics from advanced computing infrastructure to the innovative concept of “Sovereign AI.” Professor Sun Dong, JP, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, underscored Hong Kong’s proactive involvement in AI advancements, highlighting improvements in computing infrastructure, such as the Cyberport AI Supercomputing Centre inaugurated last year, which offers substantial support to local enterprises and research institutions. Mr. Hendrick Sin Hon-Tik, MH, JP, Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Subsidy Scheme Advisory Committee, also discussed the Artificial Intelligence Subsidy Scheme (AISS) and its focus on supporting local innovation and integrating AI into key industries.
