JAKARTA – Amazon Web Services (AWS) has declared Indonesia’s industrial sector well-positioned to navigate and capitalize on the accelerating pace of artificial intelligence (AI) development. This announcement came during a media briefing held on the sidelines of the 2025 AWS Summit in Jakarta on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

Anthony Amni, Country Manager of AWS Indonesia, addressed the transformative impact of AI, encompassing foundational AI, Generative AI (GenAI), and the emerging field of AI Agentics. He acknowledged the unprecedented speed of innovation, noting, ‘It’s true that the development of AI technology is very fast. AI, the AI generative, we even talk about the AI generative, talking about the large language model (LLM), it’s made new once every two weeks. Now it’s an agency.’ Amni framed this rapid evolution as both a significant challenge and a substantial opportunity for Indonesian industry players.

Despite the swift changes, Amni expressed strong optimism regarding Indonesia’s capacity to adapt. ‘I think we have to be optimistic. In fact, many companies and startups in Indonesia have been able to adapt quickly,’ he stated. He cited several Indonesian startups that have successfully integrated AI into their operations, including health tech giant Halodoc, travel platform Traveloka, and Meeting.ai, an AI-powered meeting solution now utilized in over 10 countries, including the United States.

AWS, as a global technology leader, is committed to facilitating this transition by providing robust platforms that enable industries to adopt the latest AI technologies. Amni underscored AWS’s strategy of offering the widest possible range of options to its customers, ensuring flexibility and diversity in AI models.
