C3 AI Secures $13 Million Contract to Expand AI-Powered Predictive Maintenance for U.S. Air Force Fleet

TLDR: C3 AI has been awarded a $13 million task order by the U.S. Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) to significantly expand its AI-enabled predictive maintenance program. This initiative, utilizing the co-developed PANDA application, aims to enhance fleet readiness and reduce costs across additional aircraft platforms, marking the first task order under a broader $450 million agreement.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – C3 AI (NYSE: AI), a leading enterprise AI application software company, announced on June 2, 2025, that it will fulfill a $13 million task order for the United States Air Force (USAF) Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO). This new contract is set to expand the deployment of C3 AI’s advanced AI-enabled predictive maintenance system across a wider range of aircraft platforms and integrate sophisticated sensor-based algorithms.

This $13 million task order represents the inaugural fulfillment under a recently awarded $450 million Production-Other Transaction Agreement between C3 AI and the USAF. The broader agreement underscores the Air Force’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge artificial intelligence for operational efficiency and readiness.

The core of this expansion lies in the PANDA (Predictive Analytics and Decision Assistant) application, an innovative solution co-developed by C3 AI and the U.S. Air Force. PANDA functions as a secure, integrated, and customized application and toolkit designed for near-real-time analytics and data fusion. Its primary objective is to significantly reduce lifecycle costs through improved readiness and enhanced fleet availability for the Air Force.

The work under this new task order will scale the USAF’s predictive maintenance implementation directly on the PANDA platform. PANDA itself is powered by the robust C3 Agentic AI Platform and the C3 AI Readiness application, showcasing the deep integration of C3 AI’s enterprise AI capabilities into critical defense operations.

Thomas M. Siebel, Chairman and CEO of C3 AI, emphasized the strategic importance of this collaboration. “Enterprise AI is critical to modernizing military preparedness, and its impact is exponential when fully scaled, helping ensure mission-critical assets across defense networks remain ready for deployment at any time,” said Siebel. He added, “We’re proud to build on the success of PANDA and continue supporting the Air Force.”
