Cognizant Unveils TriZetto AI Gateway to Advance AI Integration in Healthcare

TLDR: Cognizant has launched the TriZetto AI Gateway, a new foundational product designed to seamlessly integrate generative AI capabilities across its TriZetto healthcare ecosystem. This solution aims to revolutionize healthcare delivery by providing a secure and scalable platform for AI agents, enhancing operations from claims processing to care management and customer service. Early adopters have already reported significant time savings and improved efficiency.

TEANECK, N.J. – August 6, 2025 – Cognizant (Nasdaq: CTSH) today announced the official launch of its TriZetto® AI Gateway, a pivotal product engineered to embed generative AI capabilities throughout the company’s extensive TriZetto ecosystem. This strategic introduction marks a significant stride in Cognizant’s ongoing commitment to transform healthcare delivery, accelerate digital transformation initiatives, and empower organizations with cutting-edge AI tools.

The TriZetto® AI Gateway directly addresses a critical challenge faced by enterprises: the secure, compliant, and scalable integration of artificial intelligence within complex software environments. As the adoption of generative AI and advanced automation continues to grow, organizations are under increasing pressure to ensure data privacy, adhere to stringent regulatory requirements, and maintain operational agility. The TriZetto® AI Gateway simplifies this intricate process by offering a unified, secure access point, enabling all TriZetto software to interact seamlessly with AI agents. This interaction is governed by client-defined oversight, leveraging TriZetto openAccess services and other enterprise data sources. The gateway is designed to power dozens of AI agents across the TriZetto portfolio, with many more currently in development, promising a measurable impact for Cognizant’s clientele.

Craig Mengert, Chief Executive of TriZetto, emphasized the strategic importance of the new offering, stating, “TriZetto® AI Gateway is not just a connector—it’s the foundation of our agentic AI strategy. It allows us to embed intelligence into every layer of TriZetto’s portfolio, from care management to claims and customer service, while giving clients configurable control over their AI infrastructure.”

Initial feedback from early adopters highlights substantial benefits, including significant time savings per care manager case, which translates into more dedicated clinical time with patients. Additionally, the solution has led to faster training and onboarding times for claims processors. Beyond enabling secure and scalable generative AI integration, the TriZetto® AI Gateway incorporates enterprise-grade functionalities such as identity management, single sign-on (SSO), robust role-based access controls, comprehensive telemetry and observability, and transparent cost reporting.

Furthermore, the gateway establishes the technical groundwork for TriZetto® Assistant, an upcoming embedded feature that will allow users to directly access generative AI within TriZetto interfaces. This Assistant is designed to complement human workflows, utilizing enterprise data to simplify complex procedures and automate routine tasks across claims, care management, and configuration. By facilitating these future capabilities, the AI Gateway represents a crucial advancement towards delivering a more intelligent and responsive healthcare platform.

Diana Sonbay-Benli, VP and Chief Product Officer at Cognizant, commented on the broader vision, saying, “With TriZetto® AI Gateway and the TriZetto® Assistant, we’re enabling a new class of intelligent operations—modular, secure, and deeply embedded in the healthcare ecosystem. It’s a leap forward in how we deliver value to our clients and their members and patients.”
