Seoul, South Korea – August 4, 2025 – Liner, a prominent global artificial intelligence (AI) agent startup, announced today its selection as a key participant in the South Korean government’s ambitious ‘Independent AI Foundation Model’ development project. Liner will contribute its specialized expertise as part of the SK Telecom consortium, a formidable alliance of leading technology and academic institutions.
The SK Telecom consortium, spearheaded by SK Telecom, includes notable entities such as Krafton, Rebellions, 42dot, SelectStar, Seoul National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). This collaborative effort is designed to implement a ‘full-stack AI’ approach, encompassing the entire AI value chain from semiconductors to services and data.
Liner’s specific role in this national initiative will be as a ‘company specializing in accurate AI search and information exploration agent technology.’ The company is set to make significant contributions to minimizing AI hallucinations by providing real-use based datasets, establishing a robust accuracy evaluation system grounded in ranker models, and designing a sophisticated sentence-level reliability verification module. These efforts are crucial for enhancing the overall reliability and accuracy of Korea’s independent foundation model.
Kim Jin-woo, CEO of Liner, emphasized the company’s commitment to the project, stating, “Based on AI technology built on tens of millions of real-use data from home and abroad and global service operation capabilities, Liner will contribute to the deep application of the Korean AI foundation model in the daily lives of all citizens.” He further added, “By joining forces with the country’s top AI experts in the SK Telecom consortium, we will achieve results with both technological completeness and practicality to be selected as the final model.”
