The award’s primary objective is to significantly enhance competitiveness among both government and private sector entities within the UAE. By recognizing outstanding efforts in AI adoption, the initiative aims to further cement the UAE’s reputation as a global hub for innovation and smart governance. The program is designed to encourage a wide array of participants, including federal, local, and semi-government entities, academic institutions, private sector organizations, and individuals, to embrace and implement innovative AI solutions.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to realizing the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. These directives are focused on elevating the UAE’s global digital leadership through the deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions that drive advancements in government services.
The UAE AI Award is structured around five distinct categories, each designed to highlight different facets of AI excellence:
1. Excellence in AI-powered Services: This category focuses on solutions that leverage AI to improve service quality, enable data-driven decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline processes.
2. AI Solutions Developed in the UAE: This recognizes AI solutions that demonstrate a distinct Emirati identity in their concept and execution, contributing to societal improvement and service enhancement.
3. Best Government-Private Partnership in AI: This category celebrates successful collaborations between government and private entities in developing and implementing AI solutions.
4. AI Leader: This honors government professionals who champion innovative AI solutions, enhance service delivery and decision-making, build team capabilities, and raise awareness to achieve measurable results that boost government performance.
5. AI Scientific Research: This category acknowledges outstanding contributions to AI research that significantly advance theoretical understanding or practical applications of artificial intelligence.
