Temenos Crowned World’s Best Core Banking Solution by Euromoney for 2025

TLDR: Euromoney has recognized Temenos as the World’s Best Core Banking Solution for 2025, highlighting its leadership in banking technology, global scale, continuous innovation, and significant advancements in embedding artificial intelligence across its core banking processes.

Temenos, a global leader in banking technology, has been honored with the prestigious World’s Best Core Banking Solution award in the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025. This accolade, announced on July 18, 2025, underscores Temenos’s commitment to modernizing financial institutions through its trusted, innovative, and industry-leading solutions. The Euromoney Awards are highly regarded in the financial services industry for their rigorous evaluation process and editorial independence, recognizing technology providers that deliver transformative impact through innovation, performance, and client-centric solutions.

Jean-Pierre Brulard, CEO of Temenos, stated, “Being named the World’s Best Core Banking System by Euromoney is a powerful endorsement of our mission to modernize financial institutions by building on our most trusted, innovative, industry-leading solutions. Through our proven banking platform and best-of-breed, modular solutions, we give banks the power to evolve confidently, operate reliably, and embrace the future of finance.”

A key factor in Temenos’s success is its continuous innovation, particularly its significant investment in cloud-native architecture and the embedding of artificial intelligence (AI) throughout core banking processes. Euromoney praised the versatility of the Temenos platform, noting these strategic advances enable banks to innovate at scale and speed, accelerating time-to-market and enhancing operational agility.

Barb Morgan, Temenos’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, emphasized the company’s focus on “agentic AI,” believing that “autonomous AI agents can supplement humans at banks.” Temenos has been actively rolling out AI-driven features to boost efficiency and decision-making for banks. A notable example is in financial crime compliance, where Temenos introduced an autonomous AI agent in its financial crime mitigation module. This agent streamlines anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud checks, significantly reducing false-positive alerts. At one European bank, this AI agent closes approximately 20% of false-positive alerts, reducing the overall false-positive rate from roughly 7% to about 2%. This innovation substantially lowers the workload on compliance teams, allowing them to focus on genuine threats. Temenos designed this AI to be fully transparent, logging and explaining every decision, which is crucial for auditors and regulators.

Furthermore, Temenos is exploring generative AI to create “copilots” – AI assistants for bank staff. The Temenos Product Manager Copilot, for instance, can sift through large datasets and answer complex queries, potentially cutting the time to research a new banking product from weeks to minutes. This Gen AI tool integrates Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, enabling it to surface insights from a bank’s core data, documentation, and regulatory landscape. According to a recent study for Temenos, three-quarters (75%) of banks are exploring Gen AI deployment, with 36% already having deployed or in the process of deploying it.

Temenos serves over 950 core banking clients worldwide, offering flexibility to deploy solutions on-premises, in the cloud, or as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Its flagship system, Temenos Core, is utilized by both banking giants and smaller institutions, showcasing its versatility. The latest release introduced full containerization and serverless computing options, allowing banks to deploy the core platform on any cloud or on-premises and scale it easily. The company’s API-first approach, with hundreds of open APIs and a central API gateway, simplifies integration with external systems, ensuring the core banking system is ready to interface with the broader banking ecosystem.
