Agentic AI, a form of artificial intelligence capable of operating autonomously with minimal human oversight, is at the core of Zoom’s latest innovation. This technology allows the AI Companion to perform tasks, gather data, and achieve objectives automatically, thereby reducing manual effort and enhancing efficiency. The Custom AI Companion add-on now boasts connectivity with more than 16 third-party applications, including prominent platforms such as Amazon Q, Glean, Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Zendesk. This integration goes beyond simple data exchange; it enables the AI Companion to trigger actions within these external applications, allowing users to update sales pipelines, resolve service tickets, assign project tasks, and manage candidate workflows without navigating away from Zoom. Building upon its existing generative AI assistant, the AI Companion, which received initial agentic upgrades in March, these new tools further enhance its capabilities. It can attend meetings on behalf of users to automatically transcribe discussions, summarize key points, and deliver follow-up actions.
